Shore Fishing From Minehead Harbour

With the sun shining and a couple of hours spare we decided to leave the ultralight gear at home and head down to Minehead harbour with the beach rods for a spot of pier fishing. Our bait of choice was squid, mackerel, and black lug.
It didn't take long for the first dogfish to arrive which was closely followed by its more aggressive cousin the bull huss. Plus we also got rewarded by a kids-size codling which was a welcomed surprise considering it was in June. We also run through how to prepare a cocktail bait from squid and mackerel, along with presenting a whole squid on a pulley pennel rig.
