I just dug up my dahlias! We had a hard frost so it was time! It was fun to watch you! I always learn when I watch other gardeners work. Thank you!

I am totally amazed at the volume of tubers your dahlias have produced, especially in drought conditions. Perhaps you should add some of the dahlia tubers you cut off the original plants to sell in your new flower business. You could probably sell potted dahlias in the spring and seeds from your zinnias, etc. Add classes for people who want to learn how to grow cut flowers and also how to make beautiful bouquets.

This is my second season planting Snapdragons in the Fall in my high tunnel (PA Zone 6a). Believe it or not, I am still cutting off some! The ones out in the field were done months ago but for some reason the ones inside are still blooming! The stems are definitely thinner, but I just cut a bunch for a beautiful bouquet for my bedroom! I pulled most to plant more for next season, and left a bunch go to collect seed.

I so wish I could send you some of our rain. I'm going to have to dig my dahlias in wet soil. It's been a wet October, I'm afraid we're in for a wet winter. I do live in the Northwest and that's what it's usually like here. I didn't fertilize my dahlias, and they didn't do very well, next year I will be.

Are the dianthus "sweet William"? They do great outside. I have so many and I love them!
