    Nice! There was a section in that downhill I wouldn't be able to navigate, (old busted up leg) Aloha from Hawaii! 🌈 loved the old slate quarry buildings.

      Hey Noel, Thanks for giving the video a watch. Yea it’s a steep descent down from the top. My knees were hurting a bit when I arrived at the bottom. Yes the old buildings were very interesting. A lot of history there for sure.!! I love Hawaii.!! I visited Oahu a number of years ago, loved every moment I was there.!! Thank you so much for dropping me an Aloha, it made me remember my visit.
      All the very best my friend

    Walked nearly the same route as this today, however turned back on ourselves at the top of the Old Man and came back past Goat's Water, hate coming down through all the loose rocks on the quarry slopes. Couldn't see a thing from any of the tops due to cloud and blowing a gale on top of the Old Man but a great walk nevertheless. Great video

    • @FurrychalkbagOutdoors
      @FurrychalkbagOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jaime Tyrell Awww it’s a shame you didn’t get good weather Jaime for your walk. It is a wonderful route. Yes those rocks coming down via the quarry are tuff on the knees and can be slippery in wet conditions. It sounds like you still had a great day though and that’s all that matters. I’ve lost count to how many views I’ve not managed to see due to low cloud🙄 However it makes us savour them more when we get em. Thank you for taking time out to watch the video and I’m super pleased you enjoyed it. Happy hiking and stay super safe. Mike🙂

    I still need to go climb that - Coniston Old Man, Lancashire's highest mountain!
    (The stunted Tory version of Lancashire has Gragareth as it's *only* mountain)

    Hi, where did you get the map that youve used? Thanks

    • @FurrychalkbagOutdoors
      @FurrychalkbagOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, The map I used in this video is the The English Lakes, OS Explorer OL6, South-Western Area. You should be able to find it on Amazon or at any outdoor shop.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks for giving the video a watch.
      Mike.

    Hi Mike! New subscriber here, wot sorts of gadget you used for filming, like camera,drone, microphone(what type),how do u link it to your iphone.. and we noticed you carrying big backpack-food,tent etc.i suggest in some of your videos to mention what you have so others like new hikers like me will have a tips, just a suggestions,but your route and mapping tips you gave are always a 👍👍👍

      Hey thank you so much for giving my channel a sub. It’s extremely appreciated fella👍🙂 Your right...I haven’t ever mentioned in any of my videos what equipment I use. I honestly didn’t think anyone would be that interested in the camera and sound equipment. Ok... So for the majority of the camera work I use a Cannon 200D on a tripod together with either a Rode Videomicro or if I’m far away from the camera a Rode wireless go set up. Any driving shots would be with a Gopro. The sound quality you get from a Gopro is pants so I normally record my sound separately with a H1 recorder and sync them together in editing. That’s if I remember to bring my H1🙄 The backpack I use is my photography backpack. (I do a lot of still photography you see) It allows easy access to all the gear as it has big zip in the back. Drone wise.. I either use a Mavic Air 1 or I use the Air 2. I have not done any wild camp videos as of yet, even though I have been wild camping for years. The reason being with the global situation being the way it is I’ve stayed away from that side of things till things come under more control. However we seem to be getting our freedom back now so I do have a few camping videos in the pipe line for the summer and winter hopefully. I will try and remember to mention what equipment I use in those videos🙂
      Thank you again for the sub and especially for taking the time out to watch my videos🙂
      All the very best and stay super safe🙂
      Mike

      Thank you so much for giving it a watch and I’m so glad you liked it🙂 Well I recon if you do it the same way I did then probably just over 4 hours if your going light weight. I would choose a great weather day and just take your time as it’s a wonderful route. Thanks again for watching and I hope you enjoy the route as much as I did🙂
