I agree that playing the same simple three note thing over and over really shows what the pedal can do. This thing does a lot. Mode 3 is mind blowing. Very original.
Exactly what I was looking for. All the in-mix demos are cool but learning its functions in a no-nonsense setting is crucial. One is on the way now. Thank you!
Really enjoyed this. The simple repetition of the notes while the effects vary has an almost meditative quality 🙂 I loved the settings where the pitches changes were "out of tune"
Wow, posted all the way back in July 2018. That was right around the time that I got my 5th (?) pedal-also blue, a Flashback II. This video is a classic!
Thank you for making this! A friend was over with his last evening with his trying to explain the modes and your video really helped explain them even more.
Hi there, I just got mine and I've noticed it's pretty damn noisy when engaged. Is yours the same? Also, is there a way to adjust the volume as when I turn mine on, there's a noticeable jump up in volume. Thank you
atarirob hi. I didn't have any of these problems. You can hear the bypass signal and engaged signal in the video. There is no additional noise or boost after engaging the pedal. Maybe contact Montreal Assembly.
Do Noise thanks for replying man, I really appreciate it. I emailed Scott and Montreal Assembly and he said that the hiss shouldn't be a problem. Do you not notice any increase in background fizzle/hum when you turn it on? I dunno if I'm just being pedantic or mine is genuinely faulty. Thanks again
atarirob I didn't notice any issue with mine but I'm using an amp sim and playing clean 99% of the time. If you have a big amp or use the drive channel, that might be contributing to the noise.
I’ve seen other videos covering those functions so I thought I didn’t need to make one. Check out this series: th-cam.com/video/E9csj2vCKR0/w-d-xo.html
Igor Ripak Photography thanks! I don't notice much of a hiss or noise but I'm always using mine with a clean amp simulation. It might differ with a big overdriven amp but I have no such experience.
Love this Demo ...Certain part reminds of a band LOW..Then again..Awwh..just really enjoyed!! Super Respect from New Orleans Louisiana..Music and Peace of StephopalOpal aka Big Mama ◇
Is this pedal for making jazz? Because this is how you get jazz. ; ) But seriously, this could easily be turned into music by adding other sounds and some beats. In my ears it sounds far better than the regular blues jams most people play when making pedal demos.
Well, this video might make it seem useless since it doesn't include anything "musical". It can be used as a simple pitch delay or reverse delay but it works great as an unconventional looper.
It depends on what kind of music you make. I can see how it'd seem useless for a live gig by a straight-ahead rock band. But if you're into making ambient soundscapes or avant-garde electronica or Frippertronic-type guitar works, it's awfully cool. Give a listen to this video, in which it's used for music-making. It's cool if that kind of music ain't your thing, but it is *some* people's thing. :) th-cam.com/video/qAiAnmoNuCw/w-d-xo.html

love this thing, endless soundscapes to get lost in

Best Count5 tutorial on the web! Thanks.

Easily the best demo out there on this fantastic pedal. TY
eine blume thank you!
a high IQ review. Thanks from Australia. Subbed

Bc iii You’re welcome! Nice to know it’s useful.
this was a really helpful video for understanding this pedal
I can listen to 3 notes for a real long time, apparently
Thank god for this.
great video! any plans for one featuring the additional functionality you reference around 7:28?
David Hammers thanks!
Yes, it's been on my mind for a long time but I never got to make it. I'm still thinking of making it.
@@DoNoise 😊🙏
This is such a good demo. Thank you!
Do you know how to adjust the volume for each of the 3 loops individually while holding Q? I wasn't able to find that within the manual.
Holding Q down you can adjust the volume of each read head by turning DIR 1/2/3.
Deciding between this and Particle 2, can anyone help?

It looks and sounds like the Delay pedal I never wanted. "To each their own."
Fantastic, really helped me out. Amazing pedal. Thanks for doing this.
Great video! what does the CW and CCW stand for exactly?
Thanks!
Clockwise and counterclockwise.
@@DoNoise HA, thanks!
Did you ever end up doing the second video that covers the additional settings?
I’ve seen other videos covering those functions so I thought I didn’t need to make one.

Where can I buy this pedal?
Montreal Assembly’s own website have stock available from time to time. Subscribe to their email list if you want one.
Thanks for this demo! It's really clear what the pedal can do! One question:. is the pedal hissing by any chance?
Igor Ripak Photography thanks!

Thanks, great demo!
this video rules
So beautifull... Its not cheap but is so good... Ahh!!! XD I will buy it someday. Thanks for the no generic demo!
Yeah it is not for everyone or for every type of music, but it is something special.

I want to hear Nels Cline get down to business with the CT5.
He does in His video for bored to death on earthquakers channel
Um, how do you know what mode you’re in? 😂
M switch is used to select the Mode. Up:1 Middle:2 Down:3
Not really any the wiser, it's just a weird pedal. I have one but not dared to fire it up yrt
Great fucking demo.dude
The CT5 still seems kinda useless even after it's been demystified.

Red Panda Tensor is the more 'musical' version of this pedal
@@DoNoise Dude this video sounded awesome. Listened to it while working. It's a great ambient jam.
and its only about $400 plus tax ...what a good deal. NOT! Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Party time! Excellent!
