I'm sure if a Mosque and private K-12 Islamic school made the same request, Alabamians would be perfectly fine with it too. They'd have no problem with the lack of transparency, and no one would be worried about potential abuses of power. ...Right.

Islam and Muslims and mosques are being protected by the present toxic Marxist zeitgeist in the whole West. Heck, they have a word that serves as a virtual shield of safety around them.... islamophobe. They are one of the radical left’s social justice warriors.
Close partners… against the prosperous, kind hearted Christian West.
But Christianity and churches and Christians have been increasingly attacked by the mobs on the streets who are far left Marxists throughout these so-called protests.

“And I have no doubt that every new example will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Govt will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.”
James Madison - letter to Edward Livingston, July 10, 1822

I am pretty impressed with the quality of this journalism from al.com. I think it is well done and informative and seems reasonably objective to me. It's always nice when a news source just reports the news without editorializing. The only thing I would add to this is that I think the Shelby County Police Department couldn't really talk about the drug bust referenced in this piece because minors were involved. I'm not sure that the headline "drug bust shrouded in secrecy" makes that clear. I don't think you can assume that the church was attempting to cover anything up just because they were legally prevented from disclosing the names of the minors involved.

If antifa and BLM accept that advice, nobody’s going to want to create their own police force. Have you seen what is radical leftist violence revolutionaries are doing in America? Do you think Martha Luther King Junior would approve with even a half a day of what they do in this so-called peaceful protests for change ?
If you tell one kid to be peaceful while the other one is bullying the hell out of him…😶

Well, he has on a blue plaid shirt, a beard, to appear truthful, but he talks halty and too fast! Briarwood DOES have a legislative body, it is called the SESSION made up of the elders in the church.

Hahaha...this idea violates nothing. New police departments like this form throughout the states all the time. It's a pretty simple process. All the officers will be required to go to a state police academy to get certified. the church officers will enforce Alabama law only; and most likely with form an MOU agreement witj the local police amd will have enforcement jurisdiction up to a mile away from the church. The only luxury is they won't have to wait and deal with slow police response time; and can stop Dillon Roof type shootings immediately. There will be no special church laws or any other ridiculous assumption.

kevin Greenfied It's a religious police force. It's a direct violation of the freedom of religion

How is this a direct violation of the freedom of religion? No one would even fall under the jurisdiction of this police force if they did not choose to be on Briarwood's private property. I'm surprised more people aren't applauding this legislation as a victory for state's rights and local governance.
