My very first Outlands character was a, admittedly amateur, dungeon runner, and she gave Fitzl her nest egg. She later found herself swept along by Void Cultists at a VILE tavern night, and taken to realms full of all sorts of treasure and chaos. What a night! It's a great way to get started while exploring one of the more unique and chill gameplay loops Outlands has to offer! Plus, there's a gemstone throne antiquity out there, somewhere, in one of those chests!
i made this as a second build but i end up spending way more time on this one. As a totally new player on this server, its pretty nice to be able to have a nice stream of cash to get me established. Of course mine doesn't have any skill over 100 except for trap remove which is at 102 now (putting all of those 3 skills to 120 is a substantial investment) but with gold lockpicks you can hit level 5 chests no problem, or even take a chance on the level 6 boxes, i think you get like 3% chance to set the trap off.
@@mikehunt9884 120 trap removal and 120 lockpicking should be your main focus before anything else. It REALLY makes a difference on how fast you open dungeon chests... then rush fortune aspect, it'll make gold easier to come by... and then get your thief codex. The thief codex is not needed but it'll give you something to do inbetween chests.... Good luck and have fun with it :) Its a really good starter build.
@@Drawfill The primary reason for the thief codex (My lockpicker doesn't pilfer anymore) is to get the overlooked option for reduced monster aggro. It allows me to be a lot more risky while running through the dungeons un-stealthed.
I can recommend dropping 20 points from stealthing and getting 80 magery instead as you can pilfer from the invisibility spell too, which is much faster than hiding > stealthing > pilfer. Very handy to do drive by pilfers on mobs that other people are fighting.
@@tictax21 You can, I did that and magic reflect for the longest time. Part 2 is my build now, which I am still adjusting, but it's basically done. Also, pilfer in Aegis with the daemons because they give great exp and easy to run from.
Personally I went for 100 magery so I can get into lvl3 faster with earth elemental taking the hits. Also great for keeping observer busy in boos rooms
I don’t get what you mean at around 4:00 when you say the spell book activation won’t matter so use double fortune aspect. I think by double you mean weapon & armor aspected in fortune. …Wouldn’t that be the same Aspect XP gain as book & armor aspected in fortune? I’m confused now lol
I made your monk build and it is pretty nice, I'm making this one now, do you think it is a good idea to have this one hiding while clearing monsters with the monk, to have loot from monsters and chests?
You can't have two characters in a dungeon at once. Lately for picking I just been running the dungeons w 2 earth eles on guard while I pick and having no issues
This looks like alot of fun. I think I'm going to drop my pvp echo for this. Pretty sure you can get dungeon torches from chests until the 8th? Edit: does lockpick need to be 120 if you're already a high tier Fortune?
Hey man there’s 3 aspect options showing I can unlock. Do I unlock all 3 or just the 2, fortune and shadow? And would the 3rd one be good to unlock for a bit of combat abilities to go with lockpicking? Thanks for the help!

It depends on your luck, I picked a single chest and got a 2 million antiquity once. Generally, I come out with about 25k in gold + items per run (With my build now, the part 2 one)
Once you learn the level 5 and 6 chests for a few dungeons it can get really lucrative. I've made 50-60k per hour in raw gold. Not to mention cloth, skill scrolls, carpet tiles, cores and distills. You can make a pretty penny. Especially with T10 fortune and some links for rare and special loot chance. Also if you're just trying to level fortune for whatever reason I'm pretty sure picking level 6 chests is probably the fastest way to level any aspect in the game. Seriously went from T1 to T8 in like 6 hours of picking chests. Also funded all of the cores and distills with the money from treasure hunting. It can get a bit repetitive though.
Lots to do with luck, as well as finding your groove. The more you do it the more you will have a path. Lots of people love it. And as far as "worth the work" yes. Its an extremely inexpensive template
@@Drawfill agreed, and now that I got my lock box thing I can easily leave the dungeon with 30k gold in about 25-30 mins. With a fast enough turn around I reckon I'm making between 60 and 70k per hour! Although I can only handle about an hour of picking in one go. Gets a bit stale if I do it for too long. Gotta switch things up 😁
so if i don't want to steal from players why snooping? is it smart to replace it with forensic eval? or do you absolutely need it? I don't mind dropping forensic since im only up to 60 on it, all my other skills are where i want it to be for a 700 points build until i can get 720
@@PwnstarrGaming well thanks for the tip, forensic was weird on the build anyways, hard to kill monsters so you could only skin corpses other ppl left.

I think you can carry invis scrolls to cast above your magic level.

Also note; this video is old. Remove trap is no longer a skill. So adjust the template accordingly with detect hidden.

When you unlock an aspect it unlocks it for all , weapon book armor.

Did Outlands remove the Remove Trap skill? It's showing unused skill in the wiki and I don't see it in the skill list.

Maybe it’s a spoiler but I think 100 magery and 80 SS is crucial for mini boss chest lockpicking.

Another option would be just moving the custodian to the opposite end.

I just pop a blade spirit down and let it tank while i do the level 8 chest... works wonders ;)

level 6 chests pay me between 1500 to 2000 in raw gold, and that's aside all the rares you find like cores and stuff its great money

pilfering also does a snooping check , until/if they get shadow hands from the thief codex.
