- While in CV-19 lockdown, Kawasaki New Zealand staff and friends decided to tackle a 341 hour old 2008 KX125 and restore it to it's former glory. Borrowing many components including front suspension, brakes, subframe, seat, fuel tank and plastics from the 2020 KX250 4-stroke, this KX125 2-stroke has a modern twist.
Now that New Zealand is out of lockdown, who better to put it through its paces than NZ MX2 #2 NZ Kawasaki Race Team rider Josiah Natzke.
Turn the volume up and listen to the raw (no music) 2-stroke pure sound of Josiah Natzke spinning a lap at Moto Central, North Island, New Zealand.

Boy is Ripping. Sounds Amazing.
Love it that guy can ride a 125 sounds beautiful
Nice and sounds sweet as.
Com'on Kawasaki gives us all a choice build us 2strokes again. Doesn't need to be new tech just start the line again.
the market for them is to small, atleast here in eu its only 3500 125cc bikes sold here 2500 SX125 and 1500 YZ125
Bought a tear to my eye. 👍
What a crispe Kx and looks awesome
Come on start making these things again
Now that was FUN .. Appreciate the video. Well done..
wow the cinematography is amazing!
Dude knows how to ride a 125, had that thing barking 💯. Also that track was sick!!!! Nothing beats the sound of a 2 smoker when people know how to ride them
those 125 2 stroke are really fast
Woow, amazing rider, moto, track and camera. Sick !! Josiah Natzke ? the same one who was Prado's teammate on the KTM Junior Team?
Slick track for sure
When does Kawi brings back the 2 strokes? I think it’s time enough
It’s exactelly what i am thinkin
NEVER , I'm afraid ....... Seems as though Electric is on the horizon ☹️
@@mikeandrews1899 nooooooooo 😭
@@JuiceWRLDFOREVER-vj4fl there is , and had been for over a decade , a war on internal combustion engines
They're already calling their fart-knocker strokes "KX's" so probably never ..
That's one beat up starting gate. I'd love to live in zNZ
Beautiful circuit 😎
Looks like fresh out of the box
Awesome video!!!
Owner: 2001 KX125
agreed
owner: 2001 honda cr125
@@socks2441 I had a race built 85’ cr125 back in the day. Loved that bike (never wanted to start though lol), but it was a blast to ride.
@@WaylonAxe nice, I bet it was tricky to ride with no power valve etc. All or nothing
Now that is a race bike , what a beautiful sound !
Class video
please get this thing to monster
Thats what dirtbikes are supposed to sound like. The only bike ever seen more badass is the #259 kx125
Stock plastic looks better. The 250f bodywork doesn't look right without the large aluminum frame spars tying it together.
Totally agree those re style kits look like shit
complimenti per il video
Nice trak!!
Sweet vid. Anyone else notice the bike appeard to run differently throughout vid like this was recorded over a few days with jetting inbetween.
Where can I get some more info on this bike? Looking for some info on how it's jetted
Looking good!!!!@@
Plaisir des yeux et des oreilles 😍😍😍😍

damn i love 2 strokes, especially 125's being ridden by a pro.

NEED SOME LAND TOO BUILD A NEW HOUSE OUT ON THE FARM AND NEW WORKSHOP AND GARAGES AND NEW SHEDS FOR THE TOYS TOO
GOO INTO THE NEW SHEDS LOVE THE MOTOCROSS TRACK KAWASAKI NZ BROTHER
They sell 2 stroke superminis why not 125 and 250? Everyone’s building them anyways
they do sell 125s
Braaaaaap😆😆
2-stroke beats a 4-stroke if you can ride the 2-stroke.
Better get practicing cause I'm sure you are not one of them
@@rapscallion3421 I run wide open and have never been beat by a 4-stroke.
@@rapscallion3421 I had a national number and a Pro card.
@@ryanbarker4422 🤣 yeah ok. You could ride the 2 stroke but you never made it too far in the MX world lol your a backyard warrior trying to live his dream on TH-cam 🤣
Looks like you couldn't ride either🤣
👍
Sad that Kawasaki basically handed over the 2-stroke 125cc reins to Yamaha, KTM, and Husqvarna. They know, or should know, that many (most?) 125cc riders eventually outgrow the 125 and want to move up to a 250 or 450, and if they do right by these riders, they may likely choose brand loyalty when they do.
Trust me bruin, you don't just walk into a pro level MX environment and pick your favorite color to ride. These factory teams pay you big money to ride for them color goes out the window and $ starts flashing.
Красиво летит! А, звук еакой, будит как пчёлка
A
awesome bike but i like yamaha much more because they built two strokes!!
Sounds like an 85
I despise the big 3 leaving the retired classes in the dust.
At least the other Regions of the Manufactures can display their love for 2 Strokes especially Honda ridding all of their Supermini 2 strokes.
This probably won’t spark an interest to Japan but everyone else
Poor gas in combustions
Afraid of raid 😂
juju
Why aren’t we funding this?
Must trade 4x4 Chevy for kx so.i can green mangle my way along
