Thank you for the review. Excellent details. My Thor 3 just arrived today. I rushed out to get a battery for it, but it won't even turn on. My 1st LEP light, i was so excited to use it.. Devastated.
Really good review I just bought the LuminTop Thor 3 the other day. I have the AceBeam W35 it’s great and I think I’m gonna have a great time playing with both of them 🔦
Great Review ! I just got one Ali Express , first time customer ! arrived 2 weeks ahead of time ! and came with a Samsung 26650 battery ... For 110 $ ! Awesome 😎 thanks for the video !
ordered some batteries for some of my Lumintop flash lights, was told i got a cable for charging battery and connects to some flash light i don't own, yet never received such cable. was told to check my account, thought for a second maybe i did mess up, turns out NO i didn't ,there's the order payed for BUT NOT RECEIVED...
Digital cameras all seem to convert into the outdoor kelvin scale, memory is fuzzy but i recall that one has blues/purple shades in approximately 2500-4000 kelvin range, neutral seems around 5k kelvin with yellow/red/orange in the 6000-8000 kelvin range. Thats what i remember from my time shooting & editing with a Nikon digital anyway. A handheld photospectrometer would square it away properly anyhow, those ran about 1500 bucks and were helpful for ensuring set lighting was not skewing colors.
Everything is fine, but the working hours, or lifespan, of these flashlights are unknown. 5,000 hours or 10,000 hours? I think they are very short-lived, I think this is the reason why LEP manufacturers do not write the service period.
Just one question.. where can I order this lumintop lep flashlight in the USA?? Please can you provide some legitimate website I want to order the small titanium flashlight from them but am not able to find it anywhere..
Aliexpress, i never had any problem with them. At contrast, one Amazon Italy package contained an small, empty plastic box instead of an Olight Warrior 3S DreamBlue.
Do these go back to full output, if turned off for a while then back on? Would be interested to know how long it needs off, and how many times you could do it, before battery is drained too far. guessing runtime would reduce each time from original 5 minutes.
That's not something I have tested but you should be able to trigger turbo again by manual activation. LEPs don't produce as much heat as led so it's less if a problem
@@LiquidRetro it would be helpful (and expected?) to include at least a range of prices in a review. Unless you aren’t allowed to state the price because of a contract with the manufacturer or something. Which would be good to know too.
They fluxuate significantly depending on the deals going on and your location. That's why it's best to click the link or check local retailers in your country.
I’m torn between the Thor 3 or astrolux WP3 I love the body style of the Thor and tailswitch but the wp3 has a little higher stats for the same price hmmm…
reality chceck. I think lights like this are sold to "collectors". Companies just making lights to achieve the specs that look good on paper. But have no practical use. what good is a 1000 yard beam thrower if you can't see that far?? :) when people look like little birds....or look no bigger than a quarter. If you're in "search and rescue" e.g. Cost Guard or local police e.g. looking for a fugitive or someone lost in a canyon would they not being using air support e.g. helicopter? Using a huge helicopter mounted light??? THOR :))) Clearly targeting torch nrds
It’s LEP or “lep” with “le” part sounding like left. Idk why he’s pronouncing it like double e’s. These lights are hella impressive but seems like they’re just incredibly inefficient. 5 minutes at 400 lumens then a stepdown to like 100? More than likely from the voltage drop than heat since he said it runs pretty cool, so the power seems to be the bottleneck. Maybe once we finally figure out solid state batteries or some other amazing breakthrough in power storage… Can’t wait to see how many amazing things we’ll see in the future.
Good review, fun to see. 1m (3 ft) drop way too fragile, then milled round to roll right off your hood from 4 ft high onto concrete. It's not a serious light. Whizbang crap. 2m is the height of a baseball cap bill on the head. Hold it to see over an object like a fence while peering through a crack, any real world usage like that, snow on the gloves, you're out of your 150.00. People will pay for improved engineering. Dropping it from waist height exceeding the warranty is just, well, a stupid thang. It won't hold up in a challenging situation / duration. Fun to know about. Thanks.
I’ve dropped mine higher than that, no problems, but if it lands on the front lens part there’s a good possibility it could crack the lens and then it’s over, that goes for all flash lights.
so i through all my Lumintop flash lights out the window with the battery inside to see if they wood work from 3rd floor - They all stopped working lmfao... the funny thing is Lumintop lost a loyal customer for ever... told them to keep batteries i never received along with the money... Rule of thumb - when ever a company trys to milk you or trys to hide there mistakes over a few AA batteries - PUCK THEM Puck them all Period !!!

Have you tried the Amutorch BT60? If yes. Which is better TIA

It's not nearly that cold of tint. Part of the problem with getting tint data from a LEP is the intensity overwhelms the sensor even at 15-20 ft.
@@LiquidRetro Neat light definitely putting it on my torch contemplation list. :)

I just got one of these it's Ana absolute beast of a light
Light output seems greenish to my eyes.
Does it have mode memory
Is there going to be even brighter and more powerful laser flashlights with double the lumen to 1000? 1500? 2000?
Hard to say, hopefully. It's not about lumens it's about candela. Some brands have hybrid led and LEP now.
@@LiquidRetro Um, what brands? As far as I know, it's only the Lumintop Thor Pro, and that one other weird one.
Ya that's the one I know off the top of my head
Thor 4 is out. Quad and lep.
I would love to get one

i enjoy you videos they are fun to watch. have you had a chance to grab a kr4 dual channel ?
I haven't had a chance to take a look at one of those.
LIKE THE LIGHT BUT NOT THAT IT STEPS DOWN AFTER 5 MIN
5 minutes its alot, most of them step down way faster.
Any idea where to get more glow rods for it? I really would much prefer a solid color instead of the R-G-B it comes with.
Not off the top of my head
@@LiquidRetro Aww shucks. I was hoping it was something common. :)
What are the other light in the video, great job
Chen the night shot section, I mentioned them
Will it be possible to cross the border with this flashlight?
I don't see why it would be a problem at a legal crossing.
Yeah I thought they got rid of the rabbit logo too.
Great review thanks. I bought one. Thanks also for confirming that it has only two modes hi and low, i thought i had a defective one 😂
Hope you like it!
Give it 3 presses and you get strobe.

How did u forget to put batteries in the Thor 2!when ur testing them 😤
Shit happens
What’s the price?
Check the link in the description, it depends on your location and retailers.

I like the beam and lens combo here better myself
They changed the style of the tube. It's not like in this video anymore. I hate the new version, wish I could get the one seen on this video.
Are you sure? I haven't seen this
He’s right about the change :( - You’ll see if you search Thor 3 for sale :(

its a LEP not a leap your pronouncing it wrong but good review
That's just tragic
Still not as good as my Acebeam W30.
I would love to do a head to head if I had that one
Useless spotlight for 200 $ ,i use Convoy L21A SST40 2300 lumens for 100 $. throws at 1,3 km distance and u have visibility around the beam!!!
I think you have your units there wrong for your distance as that's longer than the country of Spain is wide. Lol
