Digesting Proposed DAF Regulations

This webinar provided updated information and valuable insights on the IRS's proposed donor-advised fund (DAF) regulations. The Council's Government Affairs and Legal Resources team, alongside Elinor Ramey, Partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, provided an overview of the IRS's proposed DAF regulations. The proposed regulations clarify the definitions around DAFs, address excise taxes on taxable distributions made by a sponsoring organization from a DAF, and discuss rules around scholarships. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions during this webinar and shared insights that could help inform the Council's comments in response.
