Hi Karin. Another great video, congrats! :) just want to say that even though you have a interior design business, your videos are very inspirational for any entrepreneur because of your mindset. I'm not in the interior design business, but i can relate to every video you've uploaded. We don't have many women doing this kind of content, and as we all know women approach business in a different way than man do. What you said about dress up for work is SO true!! Thanks you. Maria.
I am a man and I love your channel. I feel similar pressures to be perfect and have my business actions and public presentation be perfect and look as though i am happy all the time.
I am so happy I've found your channel! Thank you for showing us how ID business looks like, what interior design really is about, for walking us through design process, thanks for the transparency you maintain throughout your content. You are so inspirational because you keep it real! Please, keep the videos coming! :)
I throughly enjoy and appreciate your honesty and sincerity in all of your videos. Please continue to make all these videos.... You are a true inspiration and motivator. Thank you!!!
I don’t even work in interior design, i’m more into event planning YET your videos is one size fits all, it doesn’t matter what job we’re enrolled in as long as you truly look forward to hustling and working your butt off till you reach the top pyramid in your field karin comes in clutch with her ever so wonderful wonder women team! Much love from egypt Karin I LOVE YOU! ❤️
Love all your vids Karen keep up the good work. No need for polished looks all the time because you kick ass and could do so in a paper sack! I am so glad that you keep it real. I am enrolled in New York institute of art and design and I feel like I'm also attending the school of House of Bohn.
I love these videos. At this time I am a social worker, but I know that I have an artistic side that I would like to tap into on the sides. I am convinced interior design school or classes would help me perfect my approach towards design! i'm sooo excited. in due time. i appreciate these videos.
I really valued this video! I feel like you do such a great job balancing your work life. I feel like it is super hard to find content in the field you want to work in. I've been researching interior design TH-cam videos of a day to day life and came across your channel a few moths ago. Of course I binged watched all of the videos! So thankful for all the content you and your team created. I've been learning lots of great info. You should do a video on how you organize your day, meetings, and you time (do you use certain apps-calendar to keep you on track? What's the best way/key to organize your business, what's the process/stages after you get a client (walk through)?
I think as a society need to stop assuming some else's capabilities based upon how they dress or the type of clothes they wear. if they don't hire you, you'll never know the real reason, but like you said in the description if it had anything to do w/ your clothing you don't want to work w/ them anyway. I work in Real Estate & there are some very well dressed people in the industry, but some of those same ppl shouldn't be trusted to sell a dog house let alone someone's most expensive asset. They're complete idiots, but unfortunately some prospective clients will look at them & assume they must be great at what they do & hire them, then when their house doesn't sell they get angry. On another note, some folks just can't afford to jump into the entrepreneur game w/ expensive, luxury clothing & that shouldn't be held against them. If you communicate your position well, show that you're capable, & carry yourself well- that confidence will come across to the potential client & IF they're SMART they'll hire you!
divalizzous I totally understand what you're saying but think it's important to point out looking nice, even *really* nice isn't always unaffordable & designer clothing. There are certainly ways to look amazing without spending a fortune. And I honestly think it is important to put your best foot forward, it just shows respect; like you value their time & potential business and that looking professional is important. Sure, shit happens where you end up mtg someone on a Sat rather unexpectedly so you're in casual clothes but that's different.
It's sooooo true... In this field ppl judge you on how you look all the time. They look at your body, your fashion, your phone, your car.. It's like they think "if you can't even design yourself, how can you design this?" it's exhausting
Hello from Phoenix Arizona, I love your channel the content you share is inspiring , I love how honest open and detailed you are . I wish you had more views lol 😉❤️
Hey Karin.great video!I want you to know that all your videos are very inspiring and informative.I relate with most of your sentiments in this video because I just came from a project management position in a construction firm and more so now that I've recently ventured out on my own into interior design. A question for you would be how did you win over your first client without a portfolio? What was your value proposition? More love from Nairobi,Kenya
You are really inspiring one I have ever come across in my life. Thank you, your videos keep me strong all the time to persuade my dream. Donno how to thank you more.
Just found your channel.. your videos are so real and informative. You're so articulated and exude confidence that inspires me. I'm curious if they ended up hiring you? :)
I think it's similar for men and women. Even as a man you can choose to be someone who fades into the background or you can choose to step up and put yourself out there with more responsibility etc. If anything there is more pressure for men to succeed and society expects them to work hard and support a family. Women have the option if they want to be housewives or business women. Although I do see more pressure now for women to be kick ass business women and many of them now view men as competition. Women do like to get more dressed up for work but I feel that is more to impress other women than it is for mens benefit. If a couple both work full time they should both share the house chores and cooking etc. Being a man isn't always as easy as it's cracked up to be.
Those pressures are partly in your mind and partly b/c you live in the city and your chosen profession. I live in the country, it's so relaxed, no pressures. lol I am proud to not try to be superwoman anymore. But I love to come here to see you hustle. lol
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this issue. I feel you should be comfortable and creative without judgment from others opinion. Best of wishes please keep sharing your positive message.
I’m going to school for interior design on my second year. Is it normal to be afraid of not finding work or not doing what I’m going to school for? It’s a constant worry that the market for this kind of thing is not high in demand. What are your thoughts?
Thank you , I am actually in the beauty business with goals of my own beauty product line. Two different worlds but not really , both very creative shoes to fill.I watch these videos just for the Boss of it ;)
I just recently found your channel and am binge watching every video! Lol but do you have a video talking about what you eat day to day? I am an interior design entrepreneur myself and like you, I am very busy and I have found I have recently gained a lot of weight from constantly being on the go. Do you have any pointers for women just like you with a busy lifestyle? With lots of work stress? Thanks!!!
When I watch your videos. I feel that I'm not crazy because I also have dreams, projects in my life and it's a little hard to find people with your mindset. Thank you for sharing your videos!
But who are we kidding? Looks sell and you are a beautiful woman that looks good in anything. This comment relates to the very end of this video. Fame also sells.
Karin, so many ambitious women relate to what you are saying. You can and be it all. But I think there are easier ways. I just feel you might be doing too much.

Oh trust me... Men do feel that same pressure, but most will never admit it because it's viewed as being weak.
Those pressures are partly in your mind and partly b/c you live in the city and your chosen profession. I live in the country, it's so relaxed, no pressures. lol I am proud to not try to be superwoman anymore. But I love to come here to see you hustle. lol
