Thank you for bringing back my High School Memories. I grew up in a rural secluded area of Louisiana. I bought, when I could find them on trips to Shreveport, Guillows models. Balsa and all rubber powered. I learned a lot about aerodynamics and patience. If I hadn't had this hobby, in the boring rural environment on my father's cattle ranch... I can't imagine the anguish. I also read books, later served in the US Army at the end of Vietnam. Now retired and pushing 70 years old, about to start my second phase of model building. Thanks for your gentle inspiration. I hope that many young boys and men, hemmed in by their city dwellings or rural isolation find this hobby to fill those hours with creativity and dreaming rather than frustration.
Model aircraft led to my 53 year career in Aviation. I was a licensed structural fabrication/repair mechanic. I was also a master of the small and intricate repairs.

Kicking it Old School. Not for me, all the linen dope is a fire hazard.
Dennis Norman, I think we can elevate him to Pantheon of such Greats as As Pres Bruning, Don Srull, Walt Mooney, Earl Stahl..to name a few.

Back in the day I used white spirit to transfer photo copies to Balsa.
