Thank you for mentioning how careful you are around the hydraulics. As a teenager, dad was working for his uncle in the bush, logging. He saw his cousin being cut in half by a bulldozer blade when the hose blew.
Scary situation right there! Sorry to hear about that. I always assume that equipment around me can break so I try to ensure if it did I'm not likely to get hurt. Could imagine the weight of that loader and brush cutter would make for a bit situation
Thanks Tom. I"m going to have to get some more seat time with this thing before long to see how well it can make up for my lack of trail maintenance haha
That Lane Shark looks like it will be a big help in keeping your trails clear. I would suggest that you get some safety stops for the lift cylinders on your loader. They would keep the loader from dropping even if a hydraulic hose would break or the loader valve would somehow malfunction. I'm not trying to be a Safety Sally, but I have seen things happen that make me a little more cautious than I was when I was young and bullet proof. Thanks for the video
Good afternoon Sandy I could see a lot of useful way to use this cutter that will save a lots of back acke and dangerous things to try to do the job you have in mind have a great day
Hello Sandy. Excellent How-To video with great safety tips. Thank you. When you were cutting the snowy branches, you must have been grateful for the enclosed cab.
That's is a ton of adjustability in the Lane Shark. I think most people are going to use it in the flat horizontal position for a regular brush hog or the 90 degree vertical position for trimming tree lines or trails.
I think that's how I"ll be using it most of the time but then again, as we are speaking I'm thinking of the side of my one trail which is on a steel bank so this may help for that too
I wonder how hard and costly it would be to make a guard to protect the glass in your cab with a light metal grate/heavy screen to keep larger objects from hitting you. I guess making sure it's angled in the right direction is the first step but it wouldn't hurt to have a back up plan.
Excellent explanation of the various positions. My nephew has something similar that attaches to his side-by-side, and it mounts on that same - or similar universal accessory mount. That got me thinking... I'd bet he could use it on his big Kubota (141 hp). (Could also use it on the open cab 70 horse, but that WOULD NO'T BE FUN(!!!!!!), mowing the snow with an open cab. Stay warm and stay dry, buddy.
That Lane Shark is slicker than a greased pig at county fair, I know you have plenty of sludge with you, and probably some snacks. You give a great explanation of how to set up the LS for different jobs. Be careful out there and stay warm. John Toccoa GA
I have an LS2. Bought it new and used it maybe 2 hours trimming a driveway and three of the main bracket bolts broke that needed to be replaced with more heavy duty bolts. Got it running and took to my hunting lease to trim lanes. After 2 days (about 10 hours of actually working it) the skid steer mounting plate bent from the torque of the weight of the unit, the main pivot had about 1/2" of wobble and play and 2 main bearings in the motor housing went out and scared the main drive shaft. Lane Shark was contacted and were zero help. Said it was operator error and abuse. The unit never saw any branches over 2" and was used on a new Kubota M4-071 with a cab and was not "abused"! I spent $1730 on parts and labor plus the bearings and shaft that are on order now to fix it. These units are not built to handle what they are intended to do. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY unless you have a good machine shop that can beef it up for you because you will need to beef it up substantially!!!! Unfortunately there really isn't another option like this out there. Beef it up Lane Shark or someone is going to get hurt when one of these comes apart while running!!!!
Hi Sandy!!😀😀 I love the adjustments that you can do with the Lane Shark. What is the list price on the model you have??? Take care buddy!!😀😀💚💚 Logger Al
Morning Sandy! It looks like a really useful implement. Just a question - do you find that your loader arms twist at all when you have approx 350 lbs hung off the side of one loader arm? Thanks my friend.
Sandy, you amaze me how good you explain things. This is why I love watching your videos. I'll be 71 here in a few weeks and I have never met anyone explain things as good as you. Keep up the good work and enjoy trimming your trees back.
I was using mine today and had it at 2600 rpm. That is the 540 mark on my tachometer. Still goes up what I consider slow. Nowhere near the speed of yours going up in your video unless your video is on fast speed.
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼………………………………………………………………. I could use one of those, but I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the investment. I is cool and you are a heck of a salesman/demonstrator.
Thanks Sandy for show and tell us how to adjust the Lane Shark Brush Cutter. looks cool working..
Thanks Billy. Glad you came along for the video

Hi Sandy. Great explanation of the Land Shark. I did not realize it could do banks. Good Luck, and be safe.
Thanks Tom. I"m going to have to get some more seat time with this thing before long to see how well it can make up for my lack of trail maintenance haha
Lane shark is an awesome cutter that will take out so much hand work. It will be worth what it cost no doubt.
For sure Jeff. I think with the time saved alone its a game changer for me.
I love watching you explain things. Can't wait to see you cleaning up your trails!!!
I'm just about to get back into the seat for some more Lane Shark trail work. Thanks for all your support on each video. I appreciate it!

I think that's a good idea Mike. Thanks for that idea. I've seen them on skid steers and would be good idea here too
That does a real nice job. You've got quite the 'hobby farm' / business goin' Sandy. Livin' the dream, great ideas, l love it
Thank you!
Nicely designed piece of equipment - very versatile set up for the many jobs you may have.
I'm thinking it will help me get to those jobs I've put off for so long because it was hard on the body or time consuming
Good afternoon Sandy I could see a lot of useful way to use this cutter that will save a lots of back acke and dangerous things to try to do the job you have in mind have a great day
Thanks for stopping by the video today! Good to see you as always
Thanks Sandy...
Thanks Mike!
Hello Sandy. That is too cool. Have fun with it!
Hello Sandy. Excellent How-To video with great safety tips. Thank you.

That cab sure has paid for itself a few times over that's for sure Jimmer!
Waiting for more videos of you useing that, it dose look like a very useful
Hey Brian! Stay tuned, I've got some videos coming with the Lane Shark back in action. Thanks for checking out the video

That is awesome Sandy!!! Good for you!!! That will be a nice addition..
Thank you!
Nice little tutorial there. I could have almost used that cutter for fence line clearing today. Almost. Good vid. Thanks.
I'm hoping this will tame all my overgrown sections of my property. once and for all. Glad you came along for the video!

Yeah hood point there Brad. I’m sure I could rig something up if I start noticing debris . So far so good
Sandy, what a great instructional video, thx for sharing.
Hey TJ! Thanks for coming along. Hope things are well with you
@sawingwithsandy Yes Sir, they are.
Handy as a pocket on a tee shirt.
Good way of putting it!

Hey Carl! If your nephew ever needs to give away some equipment, I'd make the trip down haha

I sure do get comfy in that tractor! Certainly more comfortable than when I was slugging around the miles of trails with the pole saw
nice unit john
Hey there John!
good video and job really nice set up wished i had one. take care, be safe and well.
Thanks John!

Soooo Versatile
Sure seems like the multi tool of brush cutters
I'm still trying to talk my brother into buying one of these for the miles of trails we have on our property.
It sure makes the chore easy to handle! I’m winding it’s making me more likely to clear back my trails since it’s quicker than the pole saw for me
Brought back childhood memories of playing with my brothers transformers 😂 we never have to grow up, just have to pay more for the toys!
Hahaha that’s true
Hi Sandy!!😀😀

Hey there Logger Al! Around 4700 USD I believe
Morning Sandy! It looks like a really useful implement. Just a question - do you find that your loader arms twist at all when you have approx 350 lbs hung off the side of one loader arm? Thanks my friend.
Hey GP! Hope you’re having a good week! Greta question. I don’t notice any movement of the loader with the Lane Shark extended to the side.
Sandy, you amaze me how good you explain things. This is why I love watching your videos. I'll be 71 here in a few weeks and I have never met anyone explain things as good as you. Keep up the good work and enjoy trimming your trees back.
Thanks Noel! I appreciate that!
I have a Kioti DK5320SE and was wondering what RPM you run your tractor at ? I have a Laneshark LS4 .
Hi Shane . I run at the 540pto rpm which is about 2300rpm or so if I remember right. I just goto the coloured indicator mark on the tach

Thanks Mike. Yeah with the right situation its worth it's weight in gold for sure
Cutting inaccessible shrubs and growth looks like it's in the purview of the Lane Shark. I thought that flying cows were an issue but a flying Shark?
I'm thinking the hard to get to areas will be a great thing for me to try with this. Looks like it's going to be a good fit for that
Play safe in the woods when your alone
Hey Ken! Thanks for that reminder. It sure is a bit of a risk at times for sure
Good grief, parked on level ground, brakes on, keys out of ignition. You forgot to chalk the wheels and tie a chain to a tree..............
Safety is the most important thing when I’m working
Problem is if you don’t tell people this the “TH-cam Police” will arrest you. Keep up the good work Sandy, thanks for the video
