Enjoying your series. If I understand the passenger line correctly, you have the line going from city 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 to 1 and so forth. That means you have no way for a passenger travel from city 4 to city 3 unless they get on at city 4 and travel all the way to cities 1 and 2 before getting to city 3. This means they are occupying a space that will gain you no income most of the way. Because to the time, they might not even get on the stage and decide to "walk" as it is faster. I would suggest another line going in the opposite direction going counter clockwise from city 1 to 4, 4 to 3, 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. I believe you will increase the passenger revenue with little additional cost. Right now you are running about 20 stages to go on the one-way loop. I think you could run two lines with of 14 stages each and increase your overall revenue as you will not have as many passengers taking up a seat for the whole distance.
Thank you so much. I'm quite new at this so it means a lot to me that people enjoy this. I'm also still thinking about what's best for the passenger line. It seems like they do unload fully so that would mean 100% cashflow per leg of the trip. But I do think to improve the service/profitability we might need to add a counter clockwise line. For now it seems like there is not a huge amount of money lost so I might wait for better passenger carts and make an episode for the optimisation of the passenger lines (maybe connect even more cities). Thank you for your input, I will keep this in mind for the future.
