  • Over the last seven days, south-eastern Australia has experienced a variety of extreme weather events. Major cities have been blanketed in bushfire smoke, while flash-flooding, dust storms and golf ball-sized hailstones have wreaked havoc in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Victoria

      Only in their report; WA has had their normal summer adventures too ~ fires, dust-storms, thunder-storms, and a few cyclones.

    • @ashdog236
      @ashdog236 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The north left of Australia (Northern territory) is one of the wettest places in Aus and wild weather (cyclones, monsoons and floods) is normal. WA also gets the odd cyclone here and there too but they weren’t as affected as the east coast of Aus which is mostly a temperate climate so therefore 80% of Aussies live on the east coast and most of the bushfires and floods are happening there

    There seems to be a lot of misconceptions posted here, about Australia’s culling of their camel population. There are around a million roaming the outback, and although we export a lot to the Middle East, because of severe drought and overpopulation, a number had to be culled to stop the rest from starving. It was done for humane reasons, and these disasters have nothing to do with any divine retribution as suggested multiple times.

    Do people even watch the radar? South east Queensland gets two days of constant rain heading south to all fire areas from one patch of sea off the sunshine coast, being pushed by a North east wind.
    This NEVER happens unless a low pressure system comes south.
    There wasn't one.
    Traditionally, north east winds feed a storm or rain band out of south west or south east.
    Then with the moisture in the ground last week had NE winds and 35degrees for a week but storm cells that came from SWest were shredded by wind at last minute for no reason.

      Yep, ripper of a dust-storm whipped through my place the other day (only lost a few small trees; some larger red-gum branches down on the local roads; nothing major) ... but then we finally got some decent rain (so I went out and veritably danced in it! All my tanks are full again; so I am not complaining).
      Hope alls well at your place too.

      Hey and guess what the dust storm did? It flew away one of our floatie all the way on the street so we had to pick it up and bring it back to our home.
      I think the fires will end because it’s just summer and it’s hot so ye
      I mean I’m not In NSW or some were bad like bad fires and hail, so nothing really did anything bad unless our car and our pool kinder got dirty but we had the pool cover on so only some bit got in

    We've learnt the nature time-table for a short spell. But science researchers know a long-term schedule. Maybe, it's the right time to clean the dust off the researches files and clearly see the perspective

    "Cause and effect" the cause is the raging fires and the effect is heavy rain and hail and flooding thanks to the heat and smoke from the fires.
    If it was "climate change" why is only Australia burning and then has rain/hail/flooding? Climate is global, not restricted to a single country or continent.
