This episode revealed something that the Star Wars Galaxy should be grateful for. When Darth Vader burned, he lost not just some of his power, but also to be charming and seductive. Anakin knew how to manipulate the powerful, had Vader had that, he would have been even more dangerous. A Vader with Anakin's face would have been a dark prince of the Empire, and a symbol far more than the armored monster he became.
I disagree with that. Anakin was never charming. Attractive, sure, but any charismatic ability on his part was middling at best. You see that in Attack of the Clones and in the Clone Wars. His seduction of Padme was crude and brutish, buoyed only by saving her from death on several occasions and Padme's own lack of non-political male attention. In the Clone Wars, he is repeatedly shown to be unsuited to charm or diplomatic entreaties, notably being treated very coldly by the council for a Jedi of his stature . He does not negotiate with Separatist leaders as Padme or Obi-Wan do. His skill and trademark approach is always combat. In fact, Anakin has very little sway with most levers of authority, being somewhat of an outsider for a war hero. That approach is evident here. Anakin's feats here were strokes of luck, as the Zygerrian queen appeared to be taken with him amorously and infatuated with his body (she certainly couldn't appreciate his mind in such a short time and clearly didn't appreciate his principles). Just because Anakin was the Star Wars equivalent of mid-1990s Leonardo DeCaprio does not mean he was charming. An unburnt Anakin under the Empire would have been similarly unconcerned with politics and just as prone to violence as a primary means of conflict resolution as Vader was.
13:36 The creators actually asked themselves how many lightsabers Artoo can fit in there and decided on “as many as the plot demands.” Now, I’m picturing Artoo just shooting out an endless supply of lightsabers.

And now to celebrate, here's a gut-wrenchingly brutal storyline featuring slavery, suicide, murder of innocents, Dark Anakin and Obi-Wan getting the living Force kicked out of him. A fun fact though, the attempted rescue scene in the Zygerrian arena is a homage to the Pit of Carkoon sequence in Return Of The Jedi. It has one of the heroes in masked disguise, another in a slave girl outfit, the nods to each other, both Skywalkers hand signal to tell R2 to launch their lightsaber. There's even a snippet of the original SW theme in there when Anakin does it.
3:59 Kix is the clone that healed the injured Rex in the "The Deserter" episode from way back. He has the red cross on his shoulder. H was also present in the Umbara arc, for example.
Happy birthday, nothing like an episode about about slavery, torture, cruelty and child trafficking, Ashoka and Rex are still minors. On the lighter side it was nice to see Ashoka with the duel blades and for her to gain a better understand of why her master develops such deep attachments to people. Growing up as property all Anakin had was his attachment to his mother. The only thing his masters couldn't take from him. The plan with the salute was a nice touch, I wonder if R2 recommended it to Luke when they rescued Han. The first time I saw this I honestly expected some type of creepy Twi'lek slave girl outfit on Ashoka like they put Laia in, but she wasn't sexed up, it is nice that they treated her with the respect her character has earned.
I'd like to note that some people originally refused to watch this show since they assumed it was a kids show, due to being an animated and airing on Cartoon Network. As should be obvious by these episodes, along with others like the previous arc, this is definitely not for kids by this point in the show. BTW, happy birthday.
In Kenobi we will be getting clone wars flashbacks with Hayden playing Anakin, and Vader and Kenobi will have one fight where Kenobi loses, and then another fight where Kenobi wins, cause he connects with Qui-Gon who gives him advise on, how he must look at Anakin’s training and find a weakness. One of or both fights will be Anime level of intensity. Also, the new inquisitor Reva might turn good at the end, and the inquisitors will capture Leia to bait Obi-Wan, meaning he will leave Tatooine, and maybe have Ahsoka, or Kal Kestis and Merrin watch over Luke in the meantime. And palpatine/the emperor is rumored to appear in the show in some form too. Also, a whole new other jedi order might be in the show, different from the Republic jedi, and maybe not even connected to Cal kestis, but maybe to Saw Garrera.
Well, a Happy belated Birthday is in order then! Certainly hope you enjoyed it. The wife and I love watching your SW reactions, and look forward to seeing more. Hope you watch Rebels next, and before Bad Batch. Though BB is chronologically before, Rebels was released first and it is more impactful to watch before BB.

And Anakin somehow stayed really calm, it's sad to see that he played games in a too familiar territory during the second episode.. But it's nice to see that despite everything that happened here, he's still keeping the promise he made after his mother's death to not succumb to the Dark Side and slaughter everyone again, he'd had good reasons to, but he's still staying the better Jedi he sworn to be :)
