    Rotate the turret 90 degrees, chances are it will not remain level. The mechanics of the turret are not perfectly square with the reticle or base of the scope. In the example shown the top cap is ovate in shape, it is not even flat, the level is resting on one point. Do what you want, I simply hang a plumb line at 25 or 50 yards and align the reticle to it after leveling the rifle, gravity works every time.

    Thank you kind sir for this video. I bought the Wheeler level system and used it per your instructions here. I have a FX Crown MK2 GRS and a FX Dreamline Tact Compact, and I had no idea that the scopes were not completely level till I checked them with the Wheeler. I started the process from the beginning and it was very easy to get things right this time. I'm glad I found your video and I'm glad I spent the money for the Wheeler kit. I'm a subscriber. Thanks again.

    Caveat. If you look at the bubblelevel that is placed on the cap, you will notice it has 2 grooves cut into the base. Those grooves can be set by small screws. Thus the level can be adjusted to a accurate level. I have found that it may show level but once rotated 180°, it is not level and needed fine tuning.

    There's a really simple and very accurate method. Loosely mount the scope, get a rectangular brass bar, mines about 1"X 0.25". Put it at right angles between the pic rail and the flat section underneath the scope where the turrets are, rotate the bar along its long axis so that it touches and fills the gap between scope and pic rail and check for gaps. If the scope is just loose then it usually takes just a gentle twist of the scope to ensure its all aligned. Simples.

    I use the kind of level goes between the scope and the receiver and levels from the bottom of the turret housing.

    How do you know if first level (the one that is on the rail) is properly leveled? I notice there are adjustment screws which can suggest the level is not true level. Ps. Sorry for bad English.

  • @TMS5100

    @3:05 manufacturers do not guarantee turrets are level with the scope. they don't even guarantee it's level with the flat surfaces. only leupold guarantees the machined bottom will be level.

    Hi Giles. Awesome video as always. I got a question about the grip you are using with the saber tactical bag rider, is it an ergo grip and if yes which model? And are you going to offer grips for sale on AirGun101Shop?

    Two welding rods one on turret of scope one on breech of gun, viewed from behind when they are in line more accurate than a level. Cheap as chips

    So how do you level a budget scope with an unlevel turrent?

  • @tomspeed2000
    @tomspeed2000 ปีที่แล้ว

    The most problem is all airguns come with 11mm dovetail, mostly all grate scope suitable for picatinny rings and rails.. its a grate option if they design 2 rails for each pcp or let the customers chosen the rifle with dovetail or picatinny rail ..

  • @rooftopvoter3015
    @rooftopvoter3015 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sliding parallel between picatinny rail and machined surface under turret area. Easy

    Not all crosshairs are perfectly lined up with the turrets. I've seen scopes over a grand have this problem. Use a straight edge (i use index card) and the center of the receiver and vertical part of the cross hair. Much more reliable than the bubble level method. Was shown this by a very old long distance shooter. Scope caps and turrets aren't precise.

    This is so easy to do by just sighting down the rifle. If you try it you would see how easy it is to get in the "ball park" thanks for the video though. Love the precision

    tuned out in the first 20 seconds and gave a thumbs down. A canted scope will affect any adjustments when adjusting the vertical and horizontal using the turrets since they will be traveling at an angle. It will not affect group size in any way. Just ask anyone who has ever shot a Smallbore or Palma rifle with an adjustable cant buttplate
