A 6 volt battery should be used intead of power supply unit. Power supply will not give pure DC which in turn may effect to get steady null point.

In this video high resistance not used. Usually high resistance is used to protect the galvanometer. For far away balancing point position, the HR decrease the current passing through the galvanometer.

from 7.09 of the video...replace the keys in the secondary to include the standard resistance and measure the balancing length... which is l2
