yep its me. I knew it was him I saw his ssl 2s rank in my in-game tracker. I could instantly tell it was squishy based on the name and zap dash at the beginning of the game. I just wanted to act wholesome bc this is the first pro I've ran into.

I was the last player, ohmie, in this video. Honestly I could tell right away this player was infinitely better than me. Mostly bc of the zap dash out of the gate lol, but also because he was always one step ahead of me. I was in a long session of ones at that point and my brain was essentially turned off lol. Super cool getting to play squishy though, although I wish I could have had a better showing.

I was just saying that it looks different from our perspective because we aren’t as accurate with our movement and also make mistakes in positioning which then leads to our enemies capitalizing on our mistakes.
imo you should probably lose a few game to stay down in diamond for a little longer as it seems thats where most people seem to get stuck at. maybe seeing a few more games would help them identify their own weaknesses in game

Yall are just... not understanding. Yes half flipping in diamond is standard. Doing it well on a challenge to the ball, def not standard in diamond. I can flip reset so does that mean mine is nearly as effective as a pros? Hell no lmao. There are levels to every single mechanic.
Gold is half flipping stage am plat and around I can hit triple flip reset and am not dumb and waste all my boost and go for insane shots and most people think am champ and even rocket league thinks I should be playing with a throwing gold teammate and 1v3ing 1 gold bumping me and taking my boost and 2 champ 3s trying to score
its so refreshing seeing the kind of players I lose to get absolutely clowned by squish 😂😂
The one thing ive noticed from every vid is how much squishy uses drifting to turn and how much it catches ppl off guard

On EU-Servers, at around D3 there are more and more GCs who are just freestyling and practice their mechanics, but when you break through that you can get to around C2 when you are GC in other game modes.

In my honest opinion, you are all free to agree or disagree. I am comparing this to how Flakes did his series. I feel like Squishy is a bit too mechanical and can at times be ''competitive'' in the mindset if he meets players actual capable at times and does things the rank really can't do. When Flakes did his it was so basic and felt reasonable compared to what Squishy is doing.
I might be wrong, just my thoughts watching these that i feel like he could dumb down some of the more mechanical parts. The camera work, the power slides, the dashing on kick offs. Most low ranks will be as basic as it gets, try to mimic the opponent as much as possible. In the end you should win regardless because you have better game sense, that should be what is showcased and taught to people that mechanics is not everything. You can climb ranks by being simple, smart and consistent and not be a lunatic thinking you are some hotshot jumping from the ceiling etc. Teach away the fundamentals, i know that words probably means triple flip reset ceiling musty flick YY ladderstall No scope across the map to some of you weirdo's.....but it's not
I feel exactly the same way, and commented about it in the first video. His mechanics save him from mistakes too often, and those mistakes are the ones you're supposed to avoid and to learn from.
The first opponent in this video played great, at least for that rank, and I feel like squishy just wanted to win and tried pretty hard sometimes.

idk abt the rest of yall but after i watched this i went from d1 in 1s to d2 div 4 lol anyways its not like most diamond players dont have these lvl of mechs on rhe ground. A basic high flick, power shooting, and fakes are all mechanics that 1s diamonds have, but not as accurate. Like u can't disagree with me that diamonds in 1s ain't good at this, they basically champ in 2s

@@jekjjj I learned a thing or 2 but ultimately this is not how I want to get better at the game nor something I want to support. I'll compare it to music production- some producers use sample packs to make good sounding music while others would rather take the time & effort to learn how to make rly good music from the ground up, their own style/way, not piggybacking off the success of others. to each their own
If you spend more than 2-3 games in diamond you would see flip resets and smurfs. Multiple big name content creators have already deep dived this and came to the conclusion a lot of smurfs live in that d-c1/2 range

It's insane. I've seen so many videos on improvement but this shows me so many new things I should learn. I feel I play always better after watching a few and remind myself of this play style.
I am d2 in 1s and champ 1 in 2s. Champ and diamond is so difficult to get through compared to any other rank below because of the inconsistency with your teammates and opponents. I like seeing a pro of squishy’s caliber seeing exactly what the average player sees and is genuinely impressed that the lower ranks have come so far in skill levels since they were there.
Loving the content. I REALLY liked the RLCS content with Kep and Turbo/Kofir. Would love to see more of that. Also dying to see you do “The Path” on Steam Workshop

youve heard of grandplat but have you ever heard of super sonic diamond?
most champ 1\2 in 1v1 are around grand champ in 2s unless they are 1s grinders. most players until a higher rank dont take 1s seriously or dont play it often

some gc 2s mains players dont play 1s that much so maybe thats why some diamond players are so consistent
That’s the reason they don’t grind 1s. They’re scared to lose so they grind one mode and switch to ones so they can what a save you and feel good about themselves

Im d3 in 1's and c3 in 2s and 3s and it feels like a lot of the same ppl. Occasionally I run into a true 1s main who is mechanically diamond but totally understands 1's but mostly opponents are able to flick well air dribble and will stay behind the ball if they mess up and can get a reset but generally in non threatening situations so maybe threatening ceiling or flip resets probably 3 out of 10 attempts. 1s is definitely thicker down in diamond then other two game modes
EU ranked feels so different, I gotta move somewhere else to get out of champ😭
Diamond is most unbalanced division in entire game, more unbalanced than SSL with newbies and professionals. One game you can play against guy who dribbles entire map, does double touches etc and another game you play against a guy who cannot hit the ball and he misses to hit the ball in most cases. If you play on your own just for fun, then for thousand of hours you will be able to do something "crazy" like double touches, advanced air dribbles. Those are the players who do not learn and just play for fun and gather experience with the time without putting extra time to learning advanced mechanics in free play.

Something Ive tested and found is that on my other account(that I dont play on) im diamond in 1s and its so easy but on my main im plat 3 and its so fucking hard with 1/4 of games usually being against smurfs or people who "dont really play 1s"

Bro you make it look so easy, for me these are like ssl games. I struggle a lot in comp and in 1s the people you run into actually hit good shots if you shadow too much Im just plat 2 in 1s
You gotta remember that diamond players are actually champ players in twos. I’m champ 2/3 in twos and diamond 2/3 ones
A lot of people have mechs but don’t play a lot ones so we don’t have the ones mentality down.
Can you add your controller overlay? I feel like that’d be really helpful to understand how your using poweslide/boost/ball cam at moments like 11:55, among other things

sqiushy im d3 and in 1s im d1 and the players i go up against are nothing like d1 in 2s. d1 in 2s are pretty bad compared to d3s. theres also some low champs in d1 1s as well, there not smurfing its just genuinely harder to rank up.
squishy can predict the opponets next movie but ohmie can read squishy like a book xD

I think a lot of good (champ or higher) 2s and 3s players use 1s as a warmup. I never play 1s and i do it as a warmup and lower ranks will call me out for smurfing sometimes.
In EU mfers are doing ceiling shots and flip resets in dia 1 😂 I peak champ 1 in other modes so it's definitely true.

How can you come across a mythical double flip resetting diamond when you only play like around 4 matches in diamond? You have to at least play about 20 or so matches to see them
D1,2 in ones are usually C1/C2 people in twos/threes

I’m gc in 2s ranked D3 in 1s. Most people I run into in diamond 3 can air dribble, flip reset somewhat, and have pretty good flicks overall.

I meet people in diamond all the time that have very high technical skill like flip resets but they have no game sense they don’t give any thought to rotating and passing is a foreign concept.
feel like the vast majority of diamond 1v1 players are, or have been champ - gc before. im d2 1's and see champ tourney winners very often, and 1 or 2 ex gc tags each day or other day.

It’s exactly like you said in all the low rank 1v1s plat/diamond when your legit stuck there you run into people of all ranks in the other modes but just don’t play 1s cause majority of players don’t like 1s it’s not even that they are smurfing I feel like they just don’t play 1s
I made it to gc 1 in twos and 3's but float between d1 and d2 in 1's. I can do some advanced mechanics to an ok standard and in general decent enough car control so the diamonds can definitely surprise people. I just don't take is seriously and am trying to go off the wall and ceilings rather than being patient and waiting for mistakes. It's more like practice times for 2's and 3's.
Thats crazy, I made it to diamond 3 div 4 in 1s and my peak in 2s is only champ 3 div 1. Could have been champ in 1s if i didnt verse an SSL on my rankup game
@@alexmaldonado2804 ones is a different playstyle. I find if I want a cheap win in ones I just sit back and play off opponents mistakes. But that's no fun to me so I rather try things and then I get the cheap goals scored on me.

Me, a diamond 1 div 4 in ones and champ 1 div 2 in doubles, watching the very first game seems to be an ordinary game for that rank so yeah, the average experience I'd say
needs more last minute styling
what is up with US 1v1 ranks? those diamants are way worse than plats in EU. the difference is actually crazy. flip resets, air dribbles and more is a common thing in plat and thats why its so annoying. btw gc player here except solos
