The girl who you were like 'who is that' is Krystal - she's SNSD Jessica's younger sister. SM initially tried to cast her but she was too young so they made SM take Jessica instead lol. The rest is history.

I know this was a while ago now but I just saw your vid & wanted to comment that if you go back & watch their debut video La Cha Ta, it actually visually introduces each member so you can match to the name. Out on the street, they are in a group but when you go into the theater, each girl gets their own themed room whose clues match their name & give hints to their individual personality & sometimes even their role in the group.
1. You picked up on who Luna was, being on the moon, but there is more to her. She's in a gold shimmery dress & the moon gold, & she shares a little bit of fire (where Amber has a lot), meaning she's warm & outgoing. But also the moon on the stage & her sitting on it refer to classic broadway, as live broadway acting is her other interest (vs tv/movies).
2. Victoria is in a room with old style camera, in an oufit of Victorian influence. It's not revealing enough to be trashy, but sexy in a mature way. So think crossover between Victoria's Secret & Queen Victoria. She's the "queen" personality & literal queen in the group. She's the eldest & leader, her role is like a big sister/mom. Her fashion from the start was just as fun, but sometimes in a more sophisticated way because she's older, the only member over 18 when they debuted.
3. Amber's in a room acting/dressed like a magician & making fire. She's dressed like a magician because she isn't what she appears at 1st to strangers on the street (a guy). For most Asians, the name Amber doesn't immediately bring to mind the golden gemstone, but instead sounds like the word ember. So Ember = fire, & also her position as main rapper means she "spits fire".
4. Sulli is technically not the youngest, but she is still the group's maknae personality. She is shown as a sweetie with little kid toys in her room. She's playful yet also very shy/insecure, looking for reassurance that the others are there when she looks through the door & waves in such an over enthusiastic way. Hers is the only room that doesn't obviously match a name, but since the other 4 do then you get her name by default.
5. Though the actual youngest, she doesn't act it. Krystal is in a room of crystals style lights & mirrors to add to the effect, of course. This stands for 2 other things though. They reflect a ton of light, but in a cold way, not a warm way. She often gives the 1st impression of a cold personality, due to her resting b**** face & sometimes unexpected bouts of shyness. When overly shy she doesn't speak & lets others do it instead until pushed to say something, & her expressionless face makes it seem like it's aloofness. (This shows in how she always let Amber be the group's English speaker/translator when possible, despite them both being from California & her just as fluent despite moving to Korea much younger & much more fluent in Korean since she's Korean-American while Amber is Chinese-American.) Also crystals resemble diamonds, so give off a subconcious statement of wealth. She is the group's "princess" in personality & also the "face" of the group after the leader, the "queen".

I don't think anyone has truly pulled off the experimental concept like they did. They also have some of the best albums like Pink Tape, Red Light, and 4 Walls. Also, I think the only member you didn't catch is Victoria, leader and the member who was doing the leg lifts and cartwheel, shirt lift, etc lol. Looking forward to more reactions to them! ❤️
f(x) is THAT group. So glad you finally reacted to them. SM has a genie in a bottle because SNSD, f(x) and RV are beyond belief legendary groups. f(x) had a lot of different drama during their run that hurt their greatness. Some other suggestions from them are:

Mi first bias group
YAAAASSSS MAH GIRLS!!! SHINee's sister contemporary group who have NEVER gotten the credit they deserve! None of the current gg's who are so lauded today would exist without f(X). There are a few groups today that really remind me of f(X), y'know, groups that are...'different'. I'm thinking Weki Meki, Gwsn, Nature, 3YE (ok they're more 2NE1, but still!). Pink Tape ended up being on some big name magazine's list as the best kpop album of the decade in 2020 (can I remember which mag? Of course not), and Red Light? Ugh! Definitely check out Luna and Amber's solo work as well. Victoria and Krystal (she's Jessica Jung's little sister, btw) are pretty good actresses, and Sulli was paving her own way, musically. She collaborated with DEAN ♥♥.

Sorry if this random lol just wanted to add that Sulli was also well known for her acting and it's where she focused her career after leaving f(x). Her drama "To the Beautiful You" is actually what got me into kpop and made me a MeU!

F(x) is SHINee's little sister group and they were created to pretty much be the female version of SHINee. So, they are also known for their experimental style and sound. Therefore, like SHINee, no two songs of F(x)'s will ever be the same. SHINee and F(x) are very similar, so I'm not surprised you really like F(x) as well -- they are both SM Entertainment groups, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups :( ) and they are known for their powerful vocals and intricate dance moves.
Victoria, the leader of F(x), is featured in SHINee's "Replay" MV as the girl SHINee has a crush on, she appears in this MV before F(x) debuted -- the two groups debuted only a year apart. So the members of SHINee and F(x) are really close. Not only are F(x) equally as talented as SHINee, but they are also known for their experimentation and the fact that they always sound different with each song and with every comeback.
Fun fact: Krystal Jung is Girls Generation's Jessica Jung's little sister.(They were one of the first foreign sibling pairs to be under the same company and to both be members of separate highly popular groups.) Krystal is also known for the fact that she a very toned abs. Most Kpop girls, although they are all expected to be skinny, not many have really toned and defined abs.
However, the sad fact is, F(x) has always been one of the most neglected of SM's groups. They didn't even have an official fandom name (now finally officially called MeU, which is a play on a mathematical equation like their name and also means Me and You), symbol or color up until a few years ago. And it took SM almost 7 years before F(x) was able to hold their very first solo concert.
Part of the reason why we never got a comeback in more than 4 years from F(x) was because SM kind of ignored them. However, there are a few extenuating circumstances that also made it a little more difficult for F(x) to have a comeback, and one of the biggest ones is the fact that their leader, Victoria, is native Chinese, and for the past few years there has been issues between the Chinese and Korean government that has made it almost impossible for Victoria to work with the group. Just like Lay from EXO can't work with his group, it's the same issue for Victoria and Zhoumi from Super Junior. All of SM's mainland native Chinese artists have been separated from their groups for several years now. About the only way SM has found to get around the ban on their Chinese artists releasing music with the company, until recently, is to promise that the Chinese members will only release songs in Mandarin for the Chinese market. However, F(x) has always been pretty much a Korean exclusive group and they have never produced songs as a group in Mandarin, so at this point it would have been a little more time consuming for their Korean members to all of a sudden learn Mandarin in order to start releasing songs for the Chinese market.
And now that Amber, Luna and Victoria, have left SM, (but they all say they have not left F(x) yet) means we probably won't have a comeback any time soon. However, this doesn't rule out that it could still happen in the future. Other Kpop artists, in the past few years have left their companies, but they have also said they plan to continue activities with their groups, such as, most recently, Ravi from VIXX, L from Infinite, the 3 members of Girls Generation, Taecyeon from 2PM and Henry from Super Junior-M, etc. All three members of Girls Generation have said just because they left SM, doesn't mean they left the group -- and if you have seen any interviews with Tiffany, you will see she still considers herself a member of the group and just says we are currently all working on solo projects at this time.That's why when Girls Generation made their most recent comeback they did it as a sub-unit Oh!GG, because they weren't the full group. And Taecyeon from 2PM who left JYP Entertainment has partnered with JYP to allow him to continue activities with 2PM. So, just because the F(x) members left SM, doesn't mean that some day down the line F(x) couldn't come back together.
And now that they are all independant, it will allow them to do it on their own terms and how they want, without anyone telling them what they can and can't do.
However, this does not mean the members of F(x) aren't still busy doing solo projects. Luna and Amber are the most active when it comes to solo music projects and duo projects. Amber has been spending a lot of time back in California producing her own music and MVs. Amber has pretty much transitioned into a solo artist who does everything herself. Luna has also been doing a lot of solo projects and she has several solo songs and collaborations, as well as duo projects with Amber. Amber, Luna and Krystal even performed together at one of Luna's concerts a couple of years ago. We haven't heard a whole lot from Krystal since they took their "hiatus", but she has always been more of an actor and model when it comes to solo projects and she spends a lot of time acting in dramas and movies and traveling for promotional activities for advertising and modeling campaigns, etc. And, like Lay from EXO, Victoria has been really busy in China. She has released a few Chinese songs and MVs in the past 3 years, she is acting in several Chinese dramas and movies and you can see her appearing on a few Chinese variety shows and as a host and mentor on a Chinese Idol competition program.
Now I am nowhere near an expert on the topic, and I admit that I only understand a very minor part of what is going on between the Chinese and Korean government, but as I understand it, part of the reason for the ban on Chinese and Korean workers between the two countries is that China is refusing to align itself with the U.S. or South Korea to protect themselves with deployment of the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea. North Korea and China want to get rid of the rocket system that is meant to shoot down a nuclear missile if North Korea were to launch one at South Korea or the U.S. Another reason why China doesn't like the THAAD system is because China and the U.S. don't have the best relationship, so if the U.S. and China become on even worse terms China is afraid the U.S. could also use THAAD against them. They say the THAAD system is just provoking them to actually start a nuclear war, and until they remove it or at least move it back from the South Korean border, they will continue their ban on Korean products, workers and the Hallyu wave from working in China and for its native Chinese citizens from working with Korean companies. China feels like the Korean government is taking away its native commodities by allowing Chinese people to work in Korea. The issue is even more complicated than this, but that is one part of it.
However, recently it seems as though, maybe things are becoming less tense -- Lay, EXO's Chinese member, has mentioned EXO a lot more on Chinese TV programs lately; Zhoumi, Super Junior's Chinese member, has just released a song with one of his Korean group members and he is back in Korea after almost 6 years of not having any activities with Super Junior, and the song is in both Chinese and Korean; and WayV, NCT's Chinese group, has been doing a lot more activities in Korea. Yes, a lot of this could be attributed to the fact that everyone is restricted from traveling and things have been different because of the pandemic, but it still gives me hope.
We were all hoping that maybe because 2019 was F(x)'s 10th anniversary that SM might come up with a way to have some sort of a reunion project for the group, but sadly that did not happen. And we may forever be left with their final comeback as a group being "4 Walls" more than 4 years ago.
Yes you're reacting to F(x)! They were the very first girl group I got into and no other girl group has been able to top them yet. Their sound was just one of a kind! Regarding their title tracks, I would say Danger, Electric Shock and Red Light are probably my faves :) oh also you should definitely react to the Pink Tape and Red Light albums, they are both great!

@@LKTVLKTV Sm did Victoria so wrong. They had her on stand by for a lot of projects while everyone was doing their own thing. She was only able to model and appear in a few Chinese Drama's.
I never get tired of hearing Amber's rap to Krystal's and Luna's vocals in Danger. And Sulli saying "Remember Me" at the end hurts knowing what happened to her. Miss these talented girls!
F(x) is one of my absolute favs and their albums are all amazing.

SM loved having female counterparts to their boy groups during 1st and 2nd gen. HOT and SES, TVXQ (OT5) and CSJH the Grace, Super Junior and Girls Generation, SHINee and f(x). SM had a lot more groups than them, but these were their most popular ones following the end of 1st gen (HOT and SES are SM most well known 1st gen group). Honestly I miss them all so much.
F(x) is SHINee's sister group. They're the experimental sm groups. They all trained together and their releases were similar. Nu abo and Lucifer, Everybody and Red Light, 4 walls and View, MTTM and Dracula. They had a lot of collaboration live stages. Victoria was in SHINee's Replay, Krystal in Juliette, Luna in Get Down and of course, Lollipop. I'll happily get patreon if you're going to give the girls the attention they deserve.

They were out of their time. Their songs, concepts, outfits, and mv's are still relevant in this gen. The only regret I've is the company didn't treat them well.

Lok, I have a request. Can you react to their album? September is the month they debuted and I know I'm late but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people missing on f(x) right now. f(x) album is very influential and I still can see their influence till now. There are so many essay videos explaining about that, from their concept, aesthetics, music, etc. I just kinda sad that they barely mentioned in todays kpop discussions.

They were SM's experimental group and didn't put as much effort into promoting them as they do with Red Velvet. If you notice with them they are basically what FX should have been.
