loving that you're going through the golden oldies. Taking me back to the time when we had a record player in the house which was constantly turning with the best tunes. I was to young to remember much more than the records were my older siblings and I wasn't alowed to touch them after scratching a couple trying to get the needle in place. Keep exploring :)

It's a point sometimes noted today by reactors and viewers. I was around when this song came out - it's in great memories of that time - but can't recall if the term "player/playah" (as an "operator") was in general use then. Could've meant "player of music"? A Peter Beckett interview might have the answer.
I'm 3 months late, but what hell. Great review. I'm impressed with the value you place on people and what they've done. It's easy for us to move so far forward that we don't see the past; that is, unless something makes us stop and look back. Music does for me, and it seems for you.
