~TL Notes~ 0:35 - The lack of the subject made it so I wasn't sure if they were talking about her lineup or the enemy team moving in on the room with the spike. Based on the context and things said afterward, as well as discussing it with my QC, I decided to go with the former. 1:35 - TL Error - She says "None of them are defusing(the spike)" Me being unfamiliar with the game had me think she said 介助 instead of 解除 which are both "kaijo". (Thanks, Yume) Maybe my toxic LoL background made me think she was flaming the team. lol. 2:20 - 落ちてる - I used drop here because it's a word I'd use over disconnect or dc and it implies a lack of agency in the disconnect. But just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I looked around and saw people using it in forums, in steam discussions as well as actual games using it to inform their players that they had disconnected. I saw error messages from AoE, Total War and Factorio that all used something like "You were dropped from the game" Any other notes would just be what I learned over the course of an hour or so about Valorant. I've never played it and hardly watched it so I knew nothing, even in English. Now I know lots about it in Japanese including jargon. lol
Yes at 0:35 they were talking about Brim's lineup because Roboco always used her lineup when she used Brimstone in Bind(Map). And for context why she was wondering if the lineup will hit accurately is because on recent update, agent with lineup skill has been having bugs making their lineup inaccurate or miss. Your translation is perfect given the vague information oh btw at 1:35 iirc ojou was talking about the enemies team, she said something like "Eh none of them are defusing the spike" because after the round she mentioned that she peeked the spike thinking they're defusing but none of them are defusing and all 3 enemies are looking at her. (Given that there's not enough time, usually one player will defuse while 2 others will cover but in this case all three are aiming at her without defusing) You can get more info by googling this "ヴァロラントスパイク解除"
@@yume26o9_ You're a legend and those were the two things that I wasn't sure on. I actually did google that, haha it's just a lot of info for someone that's never played or watched the game. I was thinking she said 介助 but that makes total sense. (Edited my notes to reflect that error)
@@statskytl Haha actually 介助 does fit the context too somehow so it's not your fault You're a legend too for clipping Roboco's high-specness! Thank you!!
@@Skelyos Yeah, that's what I meant when I used drop. Drop means to get disconnected without knowing the reason. Starting to think it's not a common a thing to say because you're like the 3rd person to not know it
@@statskytl yeah! I'm Platinum 1 last season of Valorant I use to play Cypher or any other controller agents, I use to practice line ups too for Brim and Viper so I know how hard to master line ups in any maps.
Happy to see Ojou jump to sudden collab like this. I'm one of those who know almost nothing about Valorant but watch anyway, so translated clips always help so much 👍
my god, roboco with the brimstone lineups. for context those take a decent amount of effort to learn, you have to go into a private server and practice shooting them in the sky until you get it right also it is infuriating to deal with as the enemy team LOL
Dude, I was actually screaming when I was watching live! I figured it took a lot of work to learn how to do, but I literally only learned Valorant to translate this clip and she made it look so easy. So thanks for that additional context!!
That's all I'm aware of too. I know Towa and Haachama played in the past, but I dunno if they still play or their ranks when they did. I don't watch much EN/ID so I don't know anything on that front unfortunately
Roboco is underrated. She can be quite mischievous in a funny way and often has very cute mannerisms. Like all the hololive girls she's got the charm. Also Statsky I had a question about potential content and wanted your thoughts on it. I've never seen it covered on the English translated side of things, but that might be for a good reason. I recently watched a clip where Polka and mikochi are just having chatting session with each other and mikochi misreads kanji which confuses polka. The clip turned out to be hilarious because of the comment section but also Polka's reaction. Which lead me down rabbit hole of みこち語&みこち語録. Considering you need sufficient understanding of JP to get why it's funny, I was wondering if you thought it would even be worth it or possible to translate such things from mikochi and whether the humor would be lost in translation entirely. Like mikochi's infamous あえんびえん which I kept seeing in chat but didn't understand until I watched the clip below. A lot of people familiar with hololive already joke about her Japanese being under EN members. However, I personally didn't know the kinds of things she said or how she may even make up her own words. (truthfully it's only recently my Japanese has become good enough to appreciate why it's funny) th-cam.com/video/XPjnqGEiiA0/w-d-xo.html related clip from above.
As both a language learner and someone with a general interest in linguistics, I think that's totally worth it and possible. Honestly, I'd probably end up doing a lot of that if I was a Mikochi clipper, but she already has a ton of clippers so I tend to avoid her. I have done wordplay clips before and if I get around to it, I have a clip of Nenechi making a few kanji reading errors. I actually love watching the だぶちーず girls read any kanji, because they mess up a lot and it boosts my own confidence. Seriously, any Japanese learners out there should watch Nene or Miko, it'll make you feel better about yourself 100%. Once I get through my backlog maybe I'll take a gander at some Japanese clips of Miko or anyone else messing up kanji readings or wordplay and check that against what kinda clips are already out there. It's probably avoided though because I think most people just want the instant gratification teetee/yabai clips and this kinda stuff takes a bit more effort and research. So, there's probably a wealth of unseen funny moments like what you're talking about. (That clip was great btw. I wanna read about error patterns in young Japanese children developing their Japanese now) I rambled and don't remember if I answered. Uh, maybe. Lol.
@@statskytl Yep! Perfect answer and more than what I was asking for. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter, not really specific to mikochi. I agree though these kind of moments are asking a lot more from the translators and the viewers so probably a combination of things that make it relatively untrodden pathway. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll have to look up the stuff you're talking about too.
