From 1987, their 3rd album, " Pop Goes the World, this synth pop new wave band from🇨🇦🇨🇦 Montreal went to Number 20 in Canada with this tune. Baritone Ivan Doroschuk, delivers this playful satirical commentary on the state of popular culture and the entertainment industry with some humor. The driven beat, with great guitars and enjoyable keyboards make for an enjoyable listen. Great album with Ian Anderson supplying the flute on " Tuesday". Great reaction Handsome Harri ❤❤ Groovy tune Louie👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
I’m not sure I ever heard this before… thanks for your request, Louis. I like hearing new songs- especially ones I didn’t catch decades ago. Many thanks, Harri, for your reaction, and for your sharp looking cap.
WOW Harri, what an amazing start to 2025. January 2, and you've already had 4 Canadian Bands on. You're being invaded lol. Just a little trivia about the video - The lady who plays Jenny is Louise Court: Louise Court (born 1960) is a British journalist and former editor of the UK edition of Cosmopolitan, best known for her appearances in the videos for Men Without Hats' songs "The Safety Dance" and "Pop Goes The World".
That snowman figure you see in here is I believe Bonhomme Carnaval, who is the mascot of the Quebec Winter Carnival. Makes sense considering this band is from Montreal. I believe he was in at least one of their other videos as well.
I was slightly disappointed Harri because you usually have/do good analyses. I think the hidden message is they are showing a ball earth as being theatrics, thus the curtain for instance. But he begins to wonder and jumps down to the flat earth map, complete with the Antarctic ice wall and eventually everyone joins him on flat earth and in the end they pop the bubble/earth.

One of my fav songs of all time. Ivan Doroschuk's background was in punk bands before starting MWH.
Love this song so much! So happy!
Fun song! I will now be singing it in my head all day. 🙂 I don't think I have ever seen the music video before. Love it. Thanks, Harri and Louis.

This whole album is like a guilty pleasure of mine. If you haven't already, check out Safety Dance. It was their one big hit.
My Mom loved this song. The 80’s were a weird, wonderful time.

You should check out The Box - Ordinary People. Another great Canadian band from the 80s!
He did, 3 months ago.
L'Affaire Dumoutier would be my pick for next The Box song. Actually, it would be my first pick but he's already done two ;-)
@@Louis5900 You're right...I missed that. In that case Crying Out Loud for Love and !Temptation

A child's song.
I do love cheesy eighties music, but this … I don’t know. I really cannot get into this one.
Nice pick dood.
