Cole Horchler Cheers for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Riddleagan Made Masterpiece Remedy (do a google search)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cooworker after many years got excellent results with it.
Hi Mo, Color Efex Pro 4 still works with the newest version of Photoshop. You have to go to the settings on Color Efex / "after clicking ok“ and set it to apply it to the actual level (or simmilar , I have the German version). Same for the other plug ins of the NIK collection.
Hi Moe nice video. If you move your Google Nik Collection plug-in from the old version of Photoshops plug-in folder to the new version of photoshop it will start working again.
doing good.... im a fan of urs now..watching ur videos... i didnt expect i find u here in youtube.. so glad to see a Bahraini making Vlogs.. if u have gigs.. message me.. maybe im free i can help u out shooting ur Vlogs , i wanted to practice more in video side :) @@MoeZainal
Here it is Moe. I had to veer off of the exact steps you gave in this tutorial (not best practice), but I was able to do this in the end: www.cbhulai.com/Automotive/i-xDGzWgH/A
Samuel Andersen it all depends on the reflection, sometimes it doesn't do anything but it darkens by a stop or two so I remove it, will try and do a video!
Great video - I should have started with this one! Which CPL do you use? Currently on a 24-105m - do you just twist it 90 degrees to change the lighting?
You should check out on1 photo for their Dynamic contrast, if you liked Nik software. On one makes a great plug into both Photoshop and Lightroom it also has its own raw processor now and the 2019 version is amazing.
I nromally clean up bad reflections and paint jobs by a method called "frequency separation". It's very similar to the process shown in this video; but it takes a little longer as you have to also paint over certain areas when the frequency method applies a bad masking effect. But in general, it gets the job done.
What makes one CPL filter better than another? I see all different price ranges on these, yet I don't really notice a difference in their performance. Is it just that some are glass and some are resin, or is there a difference that I'm not seeing? BTW, love what you do!! Keep up the good work!!
+Jeffrey McDonald excellent question and although I haven't tried many brand types I'd assume it's all in the build and material quality, will have to research and use multiple ones In order to answer your question. Thank you so much for the kind words Jeffrey.
I have a Tiffen ans a Nikon CPL, both in the $40-60 range. I've tried staking then, and I don't see any difference except that I lose about half a stop or so. I also have a Lee 150mm linear polarizer. I'm not a fan. Maybe I got a bad one, but it almost seems like it creates a "center out" gradient. I've tried stacking the Lee with the circular. No noticeable change there either. I wouldn't care about spending more if the improvement of the results match the price tag. Let me know what you find out please!! Thanks for your time!
+Jeffrey McDonald thank you for sharing your experience Jeffrey, I might order one or two soon - here is a reference www.techradar.com/how-to/photography-video-capture/cameras/best-circular-polarizer-filter-5-top-models-tested-and-rated-1320842
Thank you. Would you recommend it? It's very hard to pick one cause i don't get to try any. I'm going to buy my first CPL filter so i want a good quality. I'm Ajmal btw 😊
+Aj Chaz Hey Ajmal! I use B+W CPL filter, here is a link with the top 5 CPL filters tested www.techradar.com/how-to/photography-video-capture/cameras/best-circular-polarizer-filter-5-top-models-tested-and-rated-1320842
@Moe Zainal to use the NIK Tool u have just to go on FILE->AUTOMATE->NIK COLLECTION SELECTIVE TOOL.. and it works at my version. Other methods brings the error and u can't work with it.
I bought a cheap CPL with my Nikon, what is the differences between a “low end” and “high end” CPL filter? I’ve tried a few shot with it and it definitely works I just wonder if a more expensive one would make it even better yet. Is there a certain one you recommend?
I cant answer because I didn't try a cheap one, I would assume its all in the build quality and the glass material - just like ND filters if you dont invest in a good quality ones, your lens is as good as what you put in-front of it no matter what it is.
Thomas Witte thank you Thomas! I have only uses B+W so I can't tell if it's the best... a fellow photographer is using neewer check him out instagram.com/p/BeN_cfUFcLP/
I need to crack my CPL back out! My tip: for a simple lens flare I use the gradient tool (white colour, going from 100 to 0% opacity) set to radial rather than the brush. I use the same technique as you and create the gradient in the middle (avoiding clipping at the edge of the canvas) and then move it to where I want.
I use B+W cpl filters and they've been good... There are many other brands that also claim their cpl doesn't change the color of the image, but haven't tried these...
Hey! You mean without a CPL filter? I believe it's essential to have one for shooting cars otherwise you have to retouch the car and remove reflections in Photoshop and it's challenging.
I first watched an advert then, when the actual video started, gave up at 1:18 having basically watched another advert for the channel - all stuff I didn't click to see.
Hey Moe! Easiest way to blend CPL exposures? Throw the top one into darken mode, no masking needed! - Cole
+Cole Horchler that's a winning tip! Thank you Cole, will have to try it out.

Thank you for explaining this. You are awesome
I need to do more CPL shots. So clean moe!
8t5mm Automotive Photographer thank you bro, I still prefer natural light shoots, especially with a CPL.
Hi Moe nice video. If you move your Google Nik Collection plug-in from the old version of Photoshops plug-in folder to the new version of photoshop it will start working again.

No problem at all.

Nice tutorial. Do you also use CPL filters in low light scenes? Can you make a video on how to pick good locations for car photography?

Hi Moe, nice vids, can you recommend me a beginner CPL for my Nikon 24-70mm (77mm) to start in car photography? Thanks a lot!
I'd go with a good solid one, I have only been using one. the B+W and I am happy with it.
Hi Moe, you're awesome as always. Can you tell me which brand of CPL you use?
+Aj Chaz Thank you Aj, I use B+W CPL - I didn't try other brands yet so I can't tell if there are any other good ones.

How do you make the visible layer seal in layer 4?
I need to crack my CPL back out! My tip: for a simple lens flare I use the gradient tool (white colour, going from 100 to 0% opacity) set to radial rather than the brush. I use the same technique as you and create the gradient in the middle (avoiding clipping at the edge of the canvas) and then move it to where I want.
I kinda like this Ben will try it next time, thank you for the tip!
Hi, I'm a doubt. Before doing the editing with Camera Raw, how do you make the seal of visibility in layer number 4?
Very nice...
Thank you.
Does it matter what brand of filter you use? Which brand do you use in particular?
Awesome video. Keep going
+Robin Alexander cheers Robin.
Is there a big difference between cheap and expensive cpl ?
The materials used I assume
AMAZING WORK DUDE
+Mirls Nimer thank you Mirls :-)
my question is how do I know a true cpl filter or which brand is the best???
I use B+W cpl filters and they've been good... There are many other brands that also claim their cpl doesn't change the color of the image, but haven't tried these...
What focal length was this shot at?
this was shot at 70mm

Hey! You mean without a CPL filter? I believe it's essential to have one for shooting cars otherwise you have to retouch the car and remove reflections in Photoshop and it's challenging.
Just finished a mini car shoot, just saw this video, just found out I had a CPL filter in my bag the entire time.
