Great test drive. I have to get the first 200 through my P365MS when it stops raining. My first owned SIG. SIG makes good and innovative pistols and always have. I also like the iconic P226 that set the standard back in the 80s by which all combat pistols are measured. That military P320/M17 looks like its running just fine. SIG innovation has done it again. The P365 is now the carry pistol that all others will be measured on. Thanks for sharing.

Love your channel. You’re reviews are informative & entertaining. You have a great “Every Man” quality. You’re not a tatted up Tactical Nerd or some overbearing know it all who forces his opinions down our throats. The scenery is always beautiful and you seem to take as much glee in shooting & blowing up “Improvised Targets” as I do. Nothing better than having lots of junk to shoot at. Old vehicles & equipment is lots of fun. I do have to say that it’s difficult for me to get getting excited over another “Plastic Fantastic “ Don’t get me wrong, I own my share & they certainly have their place in a collection. I just wish someone would come out with something really cool like a non Turkish made Hi-Power clone or hopefully Colt will bring back the Python 🐍 and/or the Anaconda. I know, they won’t be as nice as the original. I still think they would be pretty damn nice. The Cobra & King Cobra seem pretty sweet. I wish Ruger would make a blued 1911 as a standard offering or open up their Customer Shop for orders on already owned Rugers. Not just $2,500 dollar 1911’s. I wish Walther would reintroduce a .32 ACP PPK/PPK/S. I just get tired of these polymer guns. One nice thing about them, they certainly have made owning a quality, reliable weapon more accessible & affordable & that’s a good thing. Trump 2020. No Impeachment.

Good-looking duty-size pistola. Quality and shootability look excellent, too. It's always nice to have a bullet go where it's intended to go. Part of that is the launch platform, but at least as important are the hands and eyes controlling it. You're an excellent shot, so you have that end of the equation covered. I love shooting outdoors, but alas - my favorite desert location going back 35 years is now crawling with ATVs, dirt bikes, and all manner of California transplants who have no concept of multi-use public lands, staying on established trails, and listening for gunfire. Not safe to shoot there anymore. Nice outdoor range a bit closer - only 40 miles each way.
Excellent review, brother. Keep the faith.

I'm afraid the modularity of this gun is in fact its Achilles Heel. Tolerances, which will only degrade, and a too high center of barrel axis will plague the fire arm. No, I am not a Glock fan. My pistol of choice is a P226. 2d place the Beretta being replaced by these guns.

Good friend got one but is was 320 sub compact. Lots of jamming from all magazines and ammo types. Wants to run 500 rds through it before warranty return. Ok let’s do it. Can’t get him to put more than 100 a trip. I’ll run 300-500 through my M&P, Glocks, etc. oh well 😔
I like his trigger. Far superior to Glock or Smith factory. Not an Apex but good as 98% of those shooting it.
Hope he gets it straightened out. Any time you downsize that much there are going to be some bugs

Sorry to say it is as ugly to me as the japanese pistols made between 1900 and 1950. But the modularity is intriguing. A ton of appearences can be done to this chassis. This will do havoc to european civilian procurement of guns if it also allow for a g26 frame of gun.

I have never tried fly fishing but I'm guessing the nearest place would be somewhere in southern Utah, approximately a three hour drive to the nearest river or reservoir.

The trigger is slightly spongy just before it release the striker but with a little practice the pistol can be extremely accurate.

I don't have either pistol and I have never fired a .357 sig cartridge but maybe someday I will get the opportunity to review the Glock 31 or 32.

I had a G23 for several years, and bought a Lone Wolf .357 Sig drop-in conversion barrel for it - much cheaper than buying a whole 'nother pistol just to shoot that round. Accuracy was outstanding. No need to switch out magazines or anything else. Felt recoil was about the same as with factory .40 S&W loads. You can shoot lead bullets with Lone Wolf conversion barrels, but downloading the .357 Sig to accommodate lead alloys kind of defeats the purpose, IMO.

      Where did the years go?
That said, the most effective safety is located between the shooter's ears. I carried a revolvers for 75% of my LEO career - no external safety on any of them. I favor a 1911A1 "Commander" platform these days, but practice makes operating its controls instinctive. Col. Cooper simplified all the various rules of safe gun handling into 4 that are easy to remember. Engage the main safety (i.e., brain) and follow those 4 simple rules as though your life depends upon them, and you'll be about as safe a shooter as is possible.

@@SCSlimBoiseID Yeah. Not an operator, but I have been shooting since 1962 when I was gifted my first rifle. Had some idiot comment once that if I "needed" a safety I should sell all my guns. I replied that if he was so prone to panic in a bad situation that maybe he shouldn't carry. End of the day, I've got single action, double action, double action/auto, single action auto and striker fired. Add pump and auto shotguns, various .22's, multiple bolt rifles and an AR. Somehow I've always managed to remember how they work when I needed to use them. Thankfully as a civilian, that's only been 4 times and no shots fired.

    • @SCSlimBoiseID
      @SCSlimBoiseID 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly. Practice enough with what you shoot so that operating it correctly and safely is 2nd nature, or "instinctive." Most firearms I shoot these days are autos and have external manual safeties, so that's how I practice. I only shoot one revolver any more, and it's an SAA clone - no external safety. The two rifles I shoot both have external manual safeties. At the POST Academy, we had a good mix of sidearms in various calibers, SAO, DAO, SA/DA, autos and revolvers, so the emphasis was on getting familiar with what you carry, enough so that operating it safely becomes instinctive. Later, when I went to LE Firearms Instructor school, it was the same thing - guys from departments all over the state and a thorough mix of sidearms, rifles, and shotguns. Mechanical, manual safeties may not be present on a particular firearm and they can and do occasionally fail (as do other moving parts - any mechanical device can fail), so having the mental safety engaged any time you pick up a firearm is step one in the chain of eliminating negligent discharges.
You and I must be around the same age. My brother was almost 4 years older than I, so he got his first shotgun when he was 12 and I was 8. We hunted rabbits with it, shot hand-thrown clay birds, and downed a few ducks and quail as well, and loaded our own shells with a 12 ga. Lee Loader. He got a .22 at about the same time, Dad sometimes took us to the dump where we shot tin cans. I got my own shotgun and .22 rifle when I turned 12, but only after I went to an official Hunter Safety course. In those days, nobody called the SWAT team out when a 12 year-old kid was walking down the dirt road with a shotgun.
      Cheers.
