Over the years, I have had great customer feedback on the MP's. They like them because they are much quieter than the sprays. Most systems activate in the early morning hours. Customers sleep better, the MP's save water and the system is more efficient. This is the way to go.
Jim Griffiths Quieter? these nozzles are loud. It makes a loud hissing sound. it did quiet my water hammer though due to the lower flow/ precipitation rate.
I've used them since they came out in 2002. They are very versatile and save water. Great product which I have installed on everything from residential systems to corporate sites an collage campuses.
I just discovered the Hunter rotator to replace my spray heads. I understand that some utilities offer rebates for the water savings. Here in Colorado, our local utilities offers rebates for up to 80 heads conversion.
Hunter MP rotator nozzles will give you a greater radius with lower water pressures, which beats out the specs from similar competitor rotator nozzles, including Rainbird. I used them for a retrofit after a homeowner's driveway had to be moved due to property line issues. This was the only nozzle that could reach the new turf when driveway was relocated and prevented me from digging up existing irrigation sprayers and moving them to keep water covering on the grass. All other brands of nozzles fell short, mainly due to it being the zone that was at end the system so that a loss in water pressure was an issue, preventing original nozzles from reaching out with enough radius. The MP was the only one that worked without digging up the whole zone and moving it with the new driveway. MP spec sheet was what forced me to change to Hunter nozzles.
