I am so glad that all the principles I have learned throughout my life have been confirmed by this video. Came to America with no English and no money 38 years ago. Made a lot of mistakes and set back, but also never quit, but follow, hold, and practice these principles daily. Now, i am very proud, happy and fulfill for myself, life and assets. Thank God and the the great people whom helped me this far. I am blessed and grateful!

The principles in this list are true! Here lately, procrastination has been an issue for me. My failing & backwards thinking has been: "why should I do today what I can put off until tomorrow!" I know, problematic indeed! I struggle to overcome that inertia that's set in, as procrastination, is the tiny death that obliterates! Stay safe & be blessed, everyone! Peace out!😎💜🌍

Maybe procrastination is okay sometimes. It almost gives your mind the ability to create a caution zone and or waiting zone for contemplating and decision making before you get into an act.

Here is my 2c. I make a list of things to do and pick up the easiest ones first. I feel motivated to do the easiest ones and others that pop along the way. By the time I get to the top priority one it has become just one so I am refreshed.

Never wait for anything you want or need. If you wait for something you want, you will eat away at your motivation and drive. If you wait for what you need Itll cause you to be reluctant and you'll lose a sense or urgency.
Stay punctual and practice discipline so it becomes natural to act and achieve skillset.

At 58, I sure have learned that life is the ultimate challenge. I almost died twice. I lost my mom at 6 and never knew my dad. That’s life. I learned at such a young age that having a good family is the foundation. I was adopted at 7 by a great family. I was so lucky and blessed. I was brought up with great manners, the value of hard work, honesty and altruism. Every day we wake up is a blessing. We all need to strive to be better people everyday, to pay it forward, help others less fortunate when possible and be kinder. Last but certainly not least, laugh a lot and be goofy. Enjoy. Life is short.

For #5, I've had (for at least 40 years of my 58 years in life) a different phrase with same meaning: "Life is all your work and production, no one gives you ready-to-eat bites." This is I guess my strongest suit, while my weakest is #11, that is I still kind of take my good health for granted. I know I must work on it.

Everyday is a different day so deal with it as it comes along. Never be too hard of yourself. Stop thinking that other people have it better because they struggle just the same that you do. Unless they're filthy rich.

    • @christopherclayton417
      @christopherclayton417 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Then they likely struggle not with finances, but looking objectively at their situation money comes with it's own devil's, maybe to varying degrees but here are some( eg : You may have a falling out with jealous family and friends, you may be taken advantage of by them or even if you have set firm boundaries they may harass and attempt to guilt trip you, upon meeting any new people that have knowledge of your wealth you are safe to assume ulterior motives, and the potential of being manipulated. New relationships have the same abuse potential and so since I have known women to have a facade for years being in a relationship with me for very little material gain. "I make up for it in very unique and rare ways" still though can you image what some people may go through and pretend to be just for a shot at your money, with money like that you are paying almost everyone in your financial corner and they may not be honest or handling your finances accurately. A little off the top isn't the point it is disrespectful and makes you feel bad, If you boast about your altruism you are made to look like a schmuck, if you keep all your charitable donations and altruism a secret "I think you should if you can because God rewards that" but if done in private your accused of greed, selfishness, and heartlessness,... And sometimes your attempts to be a low key good person is marred by the appearance of paparazzi.. so yes people are trying to find ways to get you in trouble to sue you.. and you likely are paying for, lawyers, housekeeping, landscaping/ pool, financial advisors, any business or non-profits you open up, it may be difficult to teach your children the value of money.. possibly. These are off the top of my head payrolls you must deal with consistently. That is likely not all of them real estate agents, maintenance, electrician, mechanic, carpenters, who know what all else. And likely none of this has a thing to do with your real job if say you are an athlete, artist, or actor.) There is nothing wrong with living simply. In fact the less you need usually the happier you are.

The values act as a standard or yardstick. Values serve as a guide when choosing or evaluating procedures, regulations, people, and situations. According to the potential effects on the values we hold dear, we decide what is good or bad, legitimate or invalid, worthwhile or avoidable. But values rarely have a conscious influence on daily decisions. When one's actions or conclusions lead to conflicts between various values they hold dear, values become conscious.

Certain tragic life events hurt us so bad that the mind gets stuck in resentment from those past curveballs which then trumps our natural ability to feel joy when good things happen again. My mind takes on a pessimistic stance as a way to protect me from future shocks, you inadvertently learn not to give yourself in to hope that easily, for hope can be a dangerous thing that sets you up for emotional breakdown when desired outcomes are not obtained. But al 12 principles spot on truths nonetheless.

Ever been so good at something without even trying and the mediocre people hate you for it and sabotage you? There's no way out! You are forced to sacrifice virtue to get along with the mediocre. I despise this world.

Yes. I am privileged because of an accident of birth. The solid, middle class parents I was born to gave me a life from the beginning with only my self-imposed obstacles to contend with. I have encountered many people over the years, though, who were born facing so many obstacles beyond their control that the obsticles were impossible to overcome.

"Do you think I would be a dangerous enemy?" I asked my friend.
"Good god, yes!" he replied. "You're ex military, you look like a mountain, you are experienced, disciplined, intelligent and determined. I certainly wouldn't want to be on your bad side."
"I was afraid you would say that," I said. "You see, I have met my enemy and he is me. Never have I been so unprepared to face so formidable an adversary."

My rule of thumb is the following: have high standards, but low expectations; that’s way you’re either never disappointed or always pleasantly surprised.

  • @yaloluyanda791

I agree with most of these principles but I beg to differ on a few e.g Attitude changes everything - I don't agree with this because too much optimism (or idealism) often leads to disappointment which can lead to chronic depression, I believe that we should have a realistic outlook towards life which means that some pessimism is needed from time to time. Every problem has a solution - I disagree with this for the simple fact that it is wrong it also sounds very naive.

Attitude 'IS' everything. But like you are saying make sure it's positive but yet a realistic one. That's the attitude, and it's everything. (Not negative though, just "real". Base it on truth).
The one I don't think is entirely accurate is that good things don't come easy. Sometimes they absolutely DO! And lots of times we make things a lot harder than they have to be. Maintaining good things once we have them, is necessary and important work. But sometimes great and EASY things land right in our paths just constantly and we don't even recognize them! Things that we could do for other people, things that we could do for ourselves, gifts that have been given to us and we don't even realize it, opportunities practically waving their hands at us and still we don't see, etc.
And it is most DEFINITELY true that if we look for the positive, we absolutely will find it. We just have to get good at looking for it. Not necessarily blindly hoping and believing for some great change in the future. But just becoming more and more aware of all the things we might be missing that are already happening, or that are already opportunities right in front of us, right now.
