Imagine being 12, tuning a radio, you never heard electronic music on the radio and all at once these sounds are coming through the speaker. People can't imagine, it was like contact with space. I started recording tapes, played them with friends, we were sold. A few years later we were sitting in the bocaccio, balmoral, cherry moon, white house, at the villa, h2o, cheops, 55, barocci, ... we did them all. People outside this environment didn't understand, this isn't music, just pressing a few buttons. Now everybody is listening to electronical music...

This is American... L&0 ripped this song from The Residents Diskomo. The Residents weren't happy about it so they republished it with the sample of L&O!
Wrong... the 'O' stands for Olivier Pieters, resident of Boccaccio at that time (that's probably why you could by this record at the dj booth), Olivier Abbeloos has nothing to do with this record
I've gathered the info on discogs.com, where two different users told Olivier Abbeloos was the "O", he was also listed as member of the group. Still, he's not credited under any of the tracks, so I removed it here too. Thanks for pointing this out.

I came up with the idea to make an edit of the residents . A track he started playing in the bocaccio when i gave it to him . I went together with Olivier to the studio of Luc Devrieze where we covered the track. Luc replayed all the synths. The week after they went mixing it without me . I'm mentioned on the record as Olivier Avenue.
It's cause the entire New Beat genre is basically a mix of 80s Synthpop, EBM, New Wave and Acid House. You can also find few Italo influenced tracks like "Technotoon" by Hypnoteck.
Thanks for putting this version up, and the New Beat mix. Really appreciate it. You (and other friends of the new beat) might like this mix by Jerome Hill. If you can get to London then check out his night called Don't - right good techno, right good crowd, right good fun night.
