The OST of Godskin Apostle was stuck in my head for the longest time cause it took so many tries to kill him. But I really wanted the Godslayer greatsword.
Wow thank you! I def like the original for it's controlled sound. I'm going for something a lot more bombastic on this one - maybe they'll have a crazy followup version for the DLC or something though. It sounds like they were holding back some to me in the original.
Wait WHAT? WOW, ok.. that was unexpected... As someone who has been listening to pretty much nothing besides a crap ton of video game soundtracks, and remixes for the past decade I do have to say... This is probably one of the best things I ever listened to! This is absolutely INSANE!
there is quite little in the video game industry which rivals the sheer atmosphere of the time you fight the godskin noble at the flower village. Even re-listening to the official ost does not bring back the sheer adrenaline of fighting the noble in a 1v1 battle, no interruptions or restrains to hold back any party. Your remix perfectly brings back that absolute feeling of battle
Gloam-Eyed Queen:' Worry not Tarnished! I am not here for you!' The Tarnished, (almost too scared to ask)' Then who ARE you here for?' She merely gestures behind The Tarnished, they then turn around, and finally see the horror behind them, the newly awakened God of Blood and Deathblight, Miquella! And to make matters worse, because of the death of his beloved sister, Malenia, (his head slowly rises up, and opens his eyes) the Frenzied Flame BLAZES within Miquella! The Tarnished:' F%#@! He's the Lord of Chaos!' Gloam-Eyed Queen:' That is why I need your help, Tarnished, the one who became Elden Lord!' 'Now all of existance is at stake!' 'We cannot fail!'
Being one of my favorite themes of this game, along with many others, this rendition of this piece gives me shivers! Well done, you have done justice to the Godskins, a regal, yet macabre boss fight
The fact that you managed to make an already flawless orchestra song even better is unimaginable. This definitely would be the theme song of the gloam eyed queen in her prime.
Absolutely amazing, this was legit the first thing I heard in 2023 and was happy that it was Elden Ring. I hope you'll find time to remake either Soul of Cinder or the DS3 Title Theme (or both 👀) either way great job
Thank you! Yes those are like essential listening so I'll be getting to them in the near future. There so much awesome stuff I want to cover, it's hard to decide what the best track to do next is :)
I just started my first Playthrough of Dark Souls 3, and when I get to Freida, I think she may be close to how the Gloam-Eyed Queen in her prime, could be like!
I love this version, but maybe I’m weird - one of my most favourite part of the ost is the choir singing at 0:55 . I was so annoyed when I found out that the full length of original ost doesn’t repeat that part! It’s there just once…How come?! It sounds so beautiful. What a waste of awesome chorus. I don’t know what were they thinking. I want that part be repeated a few times throughout the entire ost, like a chorus, as I said. Was hoping maybe someone made a remix like that. Unfortunately not. But your remix is still banger!
Excellent work! Sounds epic and true to the original! And happy new year \[T]/ You know, I still have few more official lyrics(i.e. syllables and vowels with no meaning sung by the Hungarian choir) to publish, after listening to the full extent of your remake, I'm thinking about releasing them (I get lazy everytime I think of tha hassle of making the video and synch the syllables to the choir :p).
Thank you - Happy new year to you too! You should totally do them all. I get it though, I put tons of hours into the track and then I'm like "I should make a lyric video...next time lol." It's just so tedious at that point. Really I'm just less familiar with video editing so it feels like a very manual, slow process. I really appreciate your work though man. I'm on the main theme / Final Battle / Radagon / Elden Beast right now. Almost done! Got all the lyrics sounding clear and accurate based on what you posted. It gives me a good reason to "unmask" them a bit and put them front and center - which makes it feel more meaningful as a cover since it has something new to offer.
@@voxerror Thank you and you're welcome \[T]/ I noticed many people misunderstand my use of the word 'lyrics', they expect words with meaning, but I refer to vowel, syllable sounds and few latinish things sung as lyrics, basically I call lyrics everything sung (whether it has a meaning or not) by choirs. And sadly, some people are still being misled by fanmade videos that are not named correctly... May I suggest that you mention me in a fixed comment next time as well? From my YT experience, I learned most people don't check the videos' descriptions. I'm looking forward to your next work, mainly the Elden Beast theme! The exact tempos are 153(Radagon) and 100(Elden Beast). Cheers o/
@@AntoniusTertius I'll put your link in the pinned comment. I call them all lyrics too - otherwise it'd be like saying sigur ros don't have lyrics which would be silly to me. Even with the completely virtual choirs in Dark Souls I try to transcribe the lyrics as closely as possible, then reinforce them with what makes sense linguistically depending on what language(s) seem to have inspired the part. Then if I think they got lazy with the programming I embellish the phrasing to make it sound like actual sung parts. Most virtual choirs have strengths and beyond that become repetitive and uncanny so I think it's a necessary step to add human like variation and expression. btw are you planningt o post fortissax at some point? I've assumed that one is all virtual choir based on the overall sound but it could also just be an overly processed live choir. It's hard to tell - I was like 99% sure Rykard's choir was fake but it seems like it wasn't after all. They impersonated a fake choir very well lmao
@@voxerror Thank you very much ^^ About transcribing, don't worry at all, mainly in DS 1. The music producers did not make any attempt at reinforcing them with what makes sense linguistically, just focus on the vowel sounds. About Elden Ring, as I explained in my videos many times, all choir sounds you hear are from a Hungarian choir, no virtual voices in that game. The lyrics were computer-generated, but not the people who sang them. I talked to the soloist of Rykard theme and he told me they had to try 3 times before getting the song right, singing blablabla is harder than it looks. It never occured to me the Hungarian choir could sound fake to anybody, the singers exist, they are real just like their voices, which sound amazing, at least for my ears. I intend to release Beast Clergyman next. About fortissax piece, I didn't release those lyrics. Curiously, as I work with organs, I noticed that organ in that piece and thought that could be virtual, mainly because I couldn't find any credits to any organist in that game;but again, all choir members are credited.
@@AntoniusTertius Oh yes I didn't mean to suggest they weren't real - I think what confused me when I first listened was the chosen syllables sounding like they're from a virtual choir. Since I spend a lot of time trying to make those sound real I was like "damn these guys know what they're doing. I guess I have a rival somewhere out there after all" but once I saw the credits I was like "oh lol nevermind. Guess it's still just me doing this crazy choir stuff. Good." I'm stoked to hear Maliketh btw - There's such a cool track burried under all that ambience haha.

It perfectly represents them dying, and then resurrecting for the battle all over again🤯 The best fight in all Elden Ring, imo. It was the 1st fight that made me feel like I was playing a souls game again.
Out of all the Elden Ring themes, this one is the most intriguing to me. I really hope Gloam-eyed Queen is explored a bit more in the DLC that's coming out in a few days.
I feel like I’m battling the duo for the first time again… idk whether it’s PTSD from not knowing about sleep and struggling hard with them both or just how beautifully violent and emotional this piece truly is… aghhhh the feels.
Given that the Godskin Aphosltes believe in their queen similar to fanatics, rather than following some random orders of any outer god, this really captures the mercilessness when literally facing the advocates from someone that was respoonsable for the death of most known gods. The chorus here perfectly portrays the terror and the sheer magnitude of the strength of facing THE godskin aphostles.

This sounds like what Yuka would've composed if she had creative control of the Apostle's theme, what with her reliance on choral elements and generally bombastic delivery. A worthy addition to the lineup, but the somewhat more subdued menace of the original appeals a bit more to me. Still going to listen to this on repeat though, it's a good alternative version.
Yeah the video by @AntoniusTertius was very helpful in making this since he was able to reach the composer/producer for the lyrics the choir used for recording. While they don't mean anything language wise I still like to use the actual words as a guide when I do my choir remakes to get as close as possible. Thanks for listening!
