Interesting story. One night while we were in Palestine (in Bethlehem where Jesus was born) a guy started following us. He was wearing a uniform so I turned around and asked him if he was a police officer. He replied “I am the tourist police. It’s my job to keep tourists safe.” He was a nice guy and we were happy to have him around. From my personal experience, it did feel much safer in Israel.
