@@nafise1614 i think, when u speak clearly u don't sound like a native, people can hear ur accent, but they can understand u clearly, like if u're from Poland but speak clearly, people probably will listen and think "this person isn't from USA" but they'll understand u

Something even more important than accent is pronunciation and vocabulary. Of course, I wouldn't mind speaking like a native but my main goal is to speak clearly, to feel comfortable speaking English, and to make myself understood. To be totally honest I love hearing non-native Romanians speaking Romanian with different accents, it sounds exotic and fancy. Thanks from Romania 🇷🇴!

I personally love your podcasts, guys! I've literally began to listen to them on Real Life English app on my smartphone and sometimes here on TH-cam two months ago, and I fortunately relaized a signficiant improvement in my overall communication, largely listening and writting, as many other English learners. Besides thanking Ethan, Casse, Thiago and all the team behind Real Life English, I would also like to give an advice to another English learners who also watch these and other podcasts in an effort to improve their skills while doing that kind of activity. Guys, every times when you listen to podcasts in English, catch a piece of paper and a pen, listen to a certain podcast that you want to hear for a few minutes or seconds, and then try writting down what you comprehend from that part of the dialogue among the podcasters. I've been utilizing this strategy since when I got started listening to Real Life English's podcasts and it's working effectively to me. I've ever learned over 60 new vocabulary words in English by using tip in addition to enhance my communication competencies in English, which inevitably enhances my confidence while speaking it as well. Hopefully it'll work for you guys, too.😇

    Hi there!
As for me, what matters the most is to be understood and to understand different accents. I tend to pick the accent of the person I interact with the most. So I don't prioritize this aspect.
English is an international language and I think the wide variety of non-native accents adds color to it.

Love your channel. It helps a lot with getting better at English and we always keep on learning. As of what I think, pronunciation is even more important than the accent you may get, and work it every day as much as possible. Also thinking about using the app more often to share and communicate more often.

I really enjoyed the entire conversation, and I just realized how much love I've got for American accent anyway.😅
Every single language has an individuality with its own accent and flow I guess, so when we learn a language that uniqueness should be followed.
When we try to adopt the real accent and pronounciation, It basically shows a respect, it shows a love to that target language.
On the flip side it doesn't much matter wherever we are from, we shouldn't just mix up our native accent with our target language.

    Hi guys,
I love your videos, so first of all thank you for your time and effort you are putting into this.
I am from Slovakia and people in here tend to have accent that we call Slenglish or Czenglish (slovak english nad czech english).
I am not bothered by it unless I understand what they are saying.
I work for an international IT company so we have a lot of conference calls and people from all over the world are attending these calls.
That is the reason why I have the opportunity to speak to people with different accents.
And to be 100 percent honest I have some concerns when it comes to speak with people from India or Malaysia.
Although they are very kind and polite I am struggling with understanding their accent.
Frankly, I dont understand why is that. I mean why do they use such a heavy accent.
One guy from India told me that they are very proud in their country so they dont want to copy accents of native speakers.
As far as I am concerned it is not about copying accents but speaking in an understandable fashion and most of them are lacking of it.
To sum it up, for me accents are not not that important as speaking in comprehensible way
Greetings from Slovakia and 5 stars buddies :)

My idea with this process, is, studying English, to get a C1 level, to get a job, to get my passport, to do an interchange (because that job where I want to work is possible to do those interchanges) and live in the United States ❤ I have been learning a lot of things about the United States different cities, people, culture, food, etc... I really want to live there, the biggest dream is to know Disney world with my son ❤ I hope to achieve it.
For that reason I try to study so much and I am totally grateful to you for these videos because I have been learning so much with them...
And finally sorry if I comment a lot on all your videos 😂 just I want to know if I'm in the correct way with my journey learning English ❤

Hey there giselavila, it's great to hear from you again! You don't bother at all! We love you and all our audience! ❤
So hey, that's a good plan! But why wait 'til you get a C1 level? You can get a nice job, your passport and even do an interchange before reaching C1 - and you can actually benefit a LOT from it - especially because that would bring you even more opportunities to LIVE your English! And of course, to live your biggest dreams - among them visiting Disney with your sun! ;)
Thank you once again for learning with us, giselavila! ❤

I believe it is important to speak like a native, especially if you live in an English-speaking country and have the same accent as the local people. It will help you assimilate and be accepted as one of them. However, having a clear understanding of how to speak and express yourself like a native in your mother tongue is even better for fitting in.
