These dudes and the Idles are making Punk Great again
The song is about him being a straight up thief at one point in his life. Simple as that. It’s great.
"Baby Criminal" and "Return To Monke" are also great choices from this album! "Return To Monke" is my favorite song on the album but it might not be best suited for a video because the last couple minutes of it are just a descending outro for the album as a whole(but the first 2/3rds of it absolutely KICK ASS enough for it to be my fav song on the album).

The shrimp-thing i've heard, comes from the swedish saying "glida på en räkmacka". Seb, the singer, found the saying really weird and hilarious when he moved to Sweden from the US in his teens.
Would you mind explaining the saying for English speakers?

It relates to people who have had an easy life, perhaps having really rich parents, and made a career or success in life seemingly effortless. While others made lifelong struggle to come to the same place they got there by just sliding on a shrimp sandwich…
@@peterliljeholmen5703 Thanks! The closest idiom I can think of in English would be saying someone was “born with a silver spoon in their mouth”.
@@wheatthicks Yes it is similar but not exactly the same, we have that saying also in Swedish. To be born with a silver spoon in mouth implies that you have been raised in a wealthy family. However, “to slide on a shrimp sandwich” can be used more freely and doesn’t necessarily have to imply that you were born and raised like that. You could say for example that “Ever since he won that big lottery price he has been sliding through life on a shrimp sandwich…”
Their song style reminds me of an another swedish band which is The Hives.

Oh, interesting analysis. I want to say you're over-thinking it and it's just that he's playing a character who's a thief. But maybe I'm not giving the lyrics enough credit!

@@EwokToRememberThe lead singer in an interview with Fantano said that it's based on himself several years ago when he was a heavy drug addict, he was really into theft but would always get completely flabbergasted and offended whenever anyone would call him out on it. Dude kinda rocks for just completely making fun of his past self imo lol
