Judith. I have just watched a couple of your presentations and I find them very engaging and informative . Thank you. Would you consider creating your own TH-cam channel? Presentations regarding religion often becomes emotional and defensive; your style of presenting is a breath of fresh air.Thank you again.

An interesting overview. Concerning the Protestant Reformers' supposed return to Scripture and away from the dominance of philosophy, my observation is that their theology (especially that of Calvin) was very much dominated by philosophical ideas inherited via Augustine. Their very reading of Scripture was through such philosophical lenses. Concerning the crisis of the First World War, I wonder how much this was precipitated by the dominance of Darwinian notions of man as a mere animal, part of a natural process of violent struggle for dominance and survival, as against the Christian understanding of us being made in the image of God and responsible for giving expression to the love of God in our relations one with another. It seems that there was a certain tendency among some 19th century theologians to have an optimistic belief in a continual upward progress of humanity, although this would have been tempered by the brutality of the conflicts in Europe following the French Revolution.

Isa 55:8,9 "My thoughts says the Lord are not like yours. And my ways are different to your ways. As high as the heavens are above the earth so my ways and thoughts are above yours". Its a great shame that men chose "men's thoughts" ( ie greek philosophy e.t.c) above "God's thoughts and adopted creeds & beliefs contrary to the word of God!

No such thing. You either believe in the "righteousness of Christ alone, " or you don't.
