    I lived in Dover, TN at the time of this tornado outbreak. I remember seeing the news and being shocked and horrified by how much destruction there was all over the region. Dr. Smith is absolutely right when he said that it’s up to God alone when it’s your time or not. I have been in two different tornadoes in two different states. Tornadoes are the single most terrifying weather events for me! Dr. Smith , you and your colleagues have nerves of steel and I am in awe of your dedication to your patients. God bless you.

      Sorry, but God was not there. People get hurt all the time and he can’t make appearances for ever human. If he indeed created the entire universe I’m thinking he probably has a lot t more important things like creating life elsewhere. Ukraine is burning, while children are orphaned as I speak, their parents are being killed in front of them no less and 400,000 dead Russian soldiers with a lunatic madman leading them into oblivion.
      So you honestly think the God that’s capable of creating something as beautiful as the laws of physics and all the trillions and trillions and billions and billions of galaxies we see visits Norma on her porch each day and decides which football team wins? That is so juvenile and almost rude to this deity. If he gave you free will then use it and figure it out. Look out around you. This omnipotent deity creates the fabric of the universe and can create planets with prodigious life complexity. No mere human can understand a highly advanced mind like that. It’s beyond our comprehension. So when you say he means this and that, you’re insinuating that you’re a somehow privileged human. I would stop if I were you. You don’t know how he functions or what his motives are. It is too great to be known. Nature is the closest thing to divinity we will ever get.
      There’s nothing wrong with thanking the surgeon because it’s his gifted brain that god gave him to do this. Make sure you know your doctor is thanked. Let’s see what would happen if you just prayed for healing. Nothing would happen. The reason 99% of people survive surgeries is not because of God but by the exceptionally talented people who just want to help

    I have no connection to Joplin, but I remember seeing the very second my friend posted on Facebook that she could see a tornado coming towards Joplin from her top floor apartment window (she survived fine).
    Me and my husband were driving home and the whole time I had this terrible anxiety because I didn't know if she was okay or if the town was. I prayed so hard, and then finding out that night it was so much worse.

    I know maybe it's just an oversight, but EF5 tornadoes make up far less than 2% of tornadoes. There hasn't been one since 2013 and the US averages 1200 tornadoes a year. That's over 13000 tornadoes since 2013 with no EF5s. 2% would be 264 EF5s in the same period! Only 67 tornadoes have ever been offically categorized as F5/EF5 in recorded history worldwide!

    • @JustinLHopkins
      @JustinLHopkins 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Yes, we’re now well over 4,000 days and the previous record was over 1,000. It takes an immense amount of energy and organization for the atmosphere to create an EF5. For example, the 1999 Moore tornado is estimated to have released the energy equivalent of 100-600 Hiroshima bombs. Conditions have to be absolutely perfect for an EF5 to form. The bottom line is that the national weather service states specifically that for a tornado to be rated an EF5, the damage must be “catastrophic”. There’s been plenty of tornadoes that caused severe damage but none that have been genuinely catastrophic. In nature, everything begins with order and ends in chaos. A tornado, like a hurricane, can only maintain maximum strength momentarily before organization collapses and chaos takes over. Simply put, it’s not easy for the atmosphere to create the correct conditions for such powerful storms.

    • @C.L.190
      @C.L.190 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I thought 2% sounded really high

    • @SUPREME-EARTH-MOMENTS
      @SUPREME-EARTH-MOMENTS 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You’re absolutely right! EF5 tornadoes are incredibly rare, making up far less than 2% of all tornadoes. The fact that we haven’t seen one since 2013 really puts that into perspective. With over 13,000 tornadoes in the U.S. since then and not a single EF5, it’s clear just how unusual they are. The number of officially categorized F5/EF5 tornadoes worldwide is shockingly low-only 67 in recorded history! It’s a reminder of just how extreme and rare these events truly are. Thanks for pointing that out! 🌪

    • @JustinLHopkins
      @JustinLHopkins 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@SUPREME-EARTH-MOMENTS It also reminds us to be humble because nature can do anything she wants and doesn’t have to explain anything. I suspect the atmosphere just hasn’t been optimal. For a supercell to form an incredible level of complexity and organization has to occur. Already, this is not easy. Then the funnel has to from almost perfect and start building quickly into a wedge until it maxes out. Everything begins with order and ends with chaos. Tornadoes can only maintain that perfection momentarily before going back to an F4 and same thing with hurricanes. Rarely do they stay cat 5 for a meaningful. Time. Time is the devourer of all things and I suspect nature is the closest to divinity we will ever get. She can render 75% of all life on a planet extinct, but like in our case, out with the old, in with the new.

    I understand the dangers of tornadoes having witnessed the F4 on Palm Sunday 1965 in my area. What angers me is when an out and out lie is told about a vehicle starting a fire and then causing a fire tornado in July 2018 @23:41 ,anymore than chains being dragged on a highway, someone parking along a road, and at least 2 being caused by 'gender reveal' parties but probably more. Later that year, in Nov., there would be another fire that killed many.
    After that fire PG&E would accept responsibility for the deaths of about 100 people due to a problem on a power pole. I have bad short term memory and why I said "about". The entire story was not exactly true, one of the board members (well known last name) quit which tells me he may have known what was going on. If anyone knows who I'm speaking about you will understand why I am unable to say that name. I can say no more.
    All one can see now are the stories done by network TV stations or newspapers about it and none of the stories (videos) of those who experienced (aand shared what they were going through at the timee). If one wants truth they have to go to a different platform but I'm uncertain now if anything has survived as they're no longer on this platform. These may have been 'practice runs' I don't know for sure.
    How does a flat tire cause a fire? Someone please tell me.
    May our Lord keep us safe. Pray people, pray.

    What ever happened to the fire victims in California? I remember the reading fire bc a lot of weird stuff was seen indicating more of a laser type of weapon rather than a typical forest fire. And every government has these weapons.
    But anyhow what happened to these ppl? They can’t rebuild bc of the fires.

      Yeah, who is responsible for writing these titles? You’re 💯 right; it’s tornadoes plural, not possessive, tornado’s. Also, the article and preposition should not be capitalized. It should read: Surviving the Destructive Power of Tornadoes. So “the” and “of” should be both lowercase. We learn this in elementary school, y’all! Get it together, PBS! Embarrassing blunders for a ‘legit’ educational channel.
