White, american guy here and I am sad to say I was so ignorant to the cultural aspects beautifully portrayed in this musical number. As an amateur historian, I am excited to research the figures shown and celebrated here at the end.
I put RRR on one morning, on a whim, while laying with my newborn on my chest. I watched in child-like wonder and awe for 3 hours and some-odd minutes at what I have come to consider the highlight of cinema and, the most refreshing film I've seen in too long.
I've since been able to get 9 other people to watch RRR. This was only three or so weeks ago I watched it for the first time. Thank you to the film maker and those who worked on RRR for this film.
2:44 he is Kerala Varma Pazassi Raja. The King who ruled our state of Kerala southern west part of India, where I'm from. Who fought against British imperialism and died. There is a 2009 film made about him called "Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja" by our Kerala state film Industry.

I do know there is a large percentage of people in my ethnicity group, particularly from America, who are not at all inclined or interested in viewing anything outside of their immediate culture bubble. I guess the reason is that this song simply irradiates so much love for one's homeland. It's a love letter to India.

If you told me I'd be rewatching song and dance numbers from Indian movies I'd have asked you what the hell you'd been smoking, but honestly, RRR was such a joyous blast of exhilarating entertainment that I find myself coming back to this regularly (along with Naatu Naatu obviously). The movie was 3 hours long but I would have happily spent another 3 with Bheem and Rama. The most entertaining movie experience I've had since Top Gun Maverick with universal themes that any audience can enjoy. A masterpiece!

I'm not Indian, but it fills my heart with so much joy to see the national pride demonstrated in this video. RRR is a phenomenal film on so many levels and I think modern cinema everywhere can take so many lessons from this film.
