So much nostalgia. My dad played Zelda 2 on the NES in the 80's, and when I was a kid in the early 00's he got an itch for some video games and bought a Game Cube, and the Wind Waker Limited Edition that came cupeled with Ocarina of Time, as well as Metroid Prime (Metroid being another game from his late teens/early twenties). I remember watching him play, and mom eventually having to ban him from gaming until his chores were done. He only made to Dodongo's Cavern in OOT, despite using a guide he got off the internet. He much preferred Metorid Prime, which he finished all but the last boss that he could never beat, but as a 7-8 year old, Zelda was much more approachable for me. OOT was my first. I had a friend who was quite decent at puzzles and I had a way with the bosses, so we made a decent team in figuring the game out.
I've only played a little bit of TotK and I haven't played BotW since the first time I beat it back in 2017, but neither of them have captured me in the same way the old games did. I'm spending more time just traveling between places than I am playing the story, I feel no incentive to explore, most places are so instantly forgettable that I can pass the same place 5 times before I realize I've been there before, I don't like the weapon system or the shrines being the main place to gather heart/stamina pieces, rather than doing some side quest for some fun NPC or going exploring some cave or hole in the field. But that's just me, I was pretty much alone when I said BotW didn't feel like a Zelda Game 6 years ago, and I expect to be alone in not liking TotK that much either. At least the Wind Temple boss in TotK (the only one I've gotten to so far) felt like a proper Zelda boss.
Your not alone, Skyward sword was when it started to feel like it was losing its Zelda feel to me.
Going over this strategy guide was a great idea. Very relaxing to listen to your voice and I enjoy the tracing that you do too. Wonderful job as always ❤

Just started a new file of the game this weekend. Beat the Deku tree and got the letter from Zelda. Gotta go to Dodongo's cavern now. I replay the game about every other year along with Banjo Kazooie.
