Only tabitha’s could even be considered vegan Mac n cheese lol. The others are literally just pasta dishes with different sauces.
But to be fair hers is impossible to make if you don't have access to vegan cheeses... (in my country it's almost impossible to find)
@@UsagiToday it actually still tastes really convincing without it. All the vegan cheese does is add that familiar cheese stretch to the sauce. Maybe with another brand of vegan cheese it would make more of a difference but Daiya doesn’t actually impart a lot of flavor so the original recipe tastes good with or without it. In my experience, I’d actually say I prefer to leave it out since Daiya cheese creates this kind of strange gluey texture that I’m not a fan of. Give it a try

@@powerpuff4ever daiya cheese is disgusting to me, it has a aftertaste/texture of old bubble gum chewed on for hours, but im sure it taste good in her recipe

How about taking the best part of all three and making the ultimate vegan mac and cheese. Chef symon's parmesan topping, minimalost baker caramelized onions and Tabitha entire mac and cheese recipe. This sounds yummy to me!!!

Of course Tabitha Brown has the best one because that's her business.
I could tell Tabitha's would be the most Mac and cheese-like. I make a similar Mac and cheese with 4 cups butternut squash soup (or cooked butternut squash and vegetable broth, as Tabitha does in this recipe), two tablespoons nutritional yeast, 2 tablespoons Follow Your Heart Parm and I/3 wheel of Miyoko's Roadhouse Cheese (tastes very cheddar-y). You can add a splash of vegan milk if it's too thick. Simmer everything until melted together, then toss with pasta. Tastes just like the Kraft Mac & Cheese you're used to.
It helps that she adds some form of cheese.

The point stands though - she is the only one who put in something that is suppose to taste like cheese, the others didn't. So of course Tabitha's tasted like Mac and CHEESE.

I try a lot of her recipes and most of them are only like 3-5 ingredients and simple and fresh but this was the most extra one by far lol.

For a "cheesier" flavor, add nutritional yeast, salt, pepper, and lemon (or some acid to offset the nutty flavor) to the cauliflower sauce and the parmesan topping
Im not vegan at all but watching vegan cooking vids brings me so much joy because they have so much more creativity the carnivore cooking videos , the idea of using things like vegtables to imitate a certain flavour is just fun

1. Michael Symon’s Cauliflower Mac & cheese with a vegan Parmesan topping:
Cheese:
1/4 cup olive oil
1 head of cut-up cauliflower
1 cup of diced onion
2 cloves minced garlic
2 cups vegetable broth
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Salt
Pepper
Pasta
Parmesan topping:
1 cup cashews
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 tbsp garlic powder
Breadcrumbs
Chopped parsley
2. Tabitha Brown’s famous vegan Mac & cheese
Cheese:
1/2 medium butternut squash
1 potato
Garlic & herb seasoning
1 stick vegan butter
1-4 tbsp nutritional yeast
3/4 cup unsweetened non-dairy yogurt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 package shredded vegan mozzarella
1/2 package shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup vegetable broth
Pasta
Smoked paprika
3. Minimalist Baker’s caramelized onion Mac & cheese:
1 medium eggplant
Salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 onions, sliced into rings
Olive oil
1 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp cornstarch
3-4 tbsp nutritional yeast
Salt
1-2 tsp garlic powder
Pasta
Love your parents. I also appreciate these videos. I became a vegetarian way before you were born, and I was all by myself back then. I had never even heard the term “Vegan” at the time. I even had to hide the fact from my family and friends. I was belittled when they finally found out. It was like coming out as gay in an evangelical community...

I don't know about the caramelized mac and cheese by Minimalist Baker, but her roasted garlic mac and cheese is super fire!! Definitely one of the best vegan mac and cheeses I've had. I make it all the time.

Thanks for this video. I would eat all of these ...And I’m sure that Tabatha’s is the best tasting for me but I imagine the fat content is still fairly high with all the vegan butter and cheese. So I think I will go for that one just periodically and not all the time. The Minimalist Baker option is something I would feel better eating more often. ❤️🌻
I agree, Tabitha's has too much processed oils. It's an example of how vegan doesn't necessarily mean healthy.
