      1) Go for more high ticket items with big profit margins
      2) Go with influencer marketing that aligns with your product
      3) Put in hard work during the low revenue months, from January to September, because the money is in Q4 meaning October - December
      4) More email marketing to increase revenue
      5? Know that you're running a business, basically take it more seriously than just a hobby, dont be afraid to take loans to scale up the business
      6) Don't be afraid to go for more Ads on Social Media.
      You're welcome 🎤 drop

    11:53 DO NOT take out a loan unless you KNOW what you're doing and have substantial experience!

    • @keithspieker2046
      @keithspieker2046 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Enron went broke from corruption. Businesses can fail and succeed with loans. Businesses can also fail and succeed without loans. It can be a great leveraging tool for a good product to grow faster. And it can be a poor tool to try to supplement a bad product. Your business should be able to support itself but a loan can help scale it faster. But shouldn’t be used in attempt to prove a failing product.

    • @AMGF815
      @AMGF815 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is both true and false at the same time. Many very successful business founders, did not know what they were doing when they got started. In reality, part of success does involve LUCK! However, luck does often favor those who are prepared.
      The question is how much do you believe in yourself and your ideas? If you knew that whatever you were planning to do, was going to work for sure, you would have no problem taking out a loan, using personal or business credit cards, borrowing from friends and family, etc. Worse than taking out loans is to borrow from friends and family and not be able to pay them back. That damage can last a lifetime and can be far worse than damaging your credit which can be fixed.

    • @CMV314
      @CMV314 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Reginald Holt Actually, your comment is the ignorant perspective. The OP stated "unless you know what you're doing and have substantial experience". Those are very smart words. Using your argument, someone who doesn't know that they're doing and with no experience should blindly take out a loan.

      Well first off, it's "quote unquote". AND, it would have just been easier to do "free content", and people would have not even had to think about WTF you were saying!!
      Secondly, don't buy into all of the propaganda BS from a Shopify infomercial!! People used to have these types of infomercials on TV all the time, and people would spend thousands trying someone else's BS get rich scam!! The only people getting rich are the people taking a fools money!!

So many people putting in their video titles "How I made 3 billion sales, 5 trillion in profit, and bought a private jet in 1 week with this easy trick!" which makes people think that this is a get rich quick thing. I learned that it takes alot of work, money, and time to make these things profitable. But if you pay your due's it can be done. Thanks for the video Chris!

    I am a beginner, any recommendation about going with a store on Shopify or start selling on marketplace like Etsy, Ebay, etc. ?
    Also do you recommend to start with one product (POD) and target many niches or many products and target one niche ? Thanks !

    • @InvolvingChris
      @InvolvingChris  5 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Hey Yamo, thanks so much for the feedback! Definitely go with Shopify if you are first starting. Don't go with another persons platform like Etsy, only use it for research purposes. The benefit of using Shopify is that you own all your customer data and can build your own brand, send your own traffic, etc... if you use Etsy, you are reliant on their platform which comes with tons of limitations.
      As for the type of store- I recommend going with a niche one! That is the ultimate goal. BUT, if you are unsure of a niche... start a general store selling different POD products. Once you narrow in on something working, you can branch off. I just don't recommend a general store over the longterm because of the lack of longevity. Let me know if you have other questions!

    If I could have a moment of your time,
    I tried online businesses with Amazon and Wordpress back in the day. I learned a lot, but didn't make any money. This was in '09, and when I learned that most online success was the result of savvy blackhat SEO, somewhat jaded, I decided I would concentrate on my traditional job. A decade later and I find myself in the position of needing to work from home.
    I have had a good 15 year career in management, and have seen the online business model mature a great deal in that time. I have a background in IT, (was an old Rackspace Linux server admin) and recently learned a lot about online marketing working as a marketing director for a real estate company. I even have some (not much) but some capital, So long story short, I think I'm ready for round two. Any suggestions?

    Amazing advice! I have a print to order site and I really got it to scale! But how do we feel about making more useless items and clothing waste with the state of the environment, plastic, and waste? Does generating profit and selling worth it all at the end? I personally struggle with this on my conscience as a business owner for over 12 years. 15.1 million tons of textile waste yearly, do we need to add more?

    Love the video, one thing I would suggest is changing the title to something like how to go from 0 - 5 million on Shopify, how to is a main key word and the TH-cam algorithm will show your video to more people and with your audience retention being high your views will sky rocket

    Great advice regarding high ticket products and using Etsy to find suppliers! What are your thoughts on creating a shopify store that combines a few different Etsy artisans who sell similar types of artwork? This would be an art gallery model where I'd help several jewelry "micro-brands" sell under a gallery brand. The three main problems I see with this are brand confusion (assuming they won't white label and mail out their products using their brand), a lower prices on Etsy vs. higher prices listed on my gallery (same issue with your metal-working example), and their inability to scale if lots of orders come through. Also, what do you think of testing already existing canvas designs by making deals directly with artists who are currently selling passively on various POD aggregate websites? (Obviously, this could save on design costs in the testing phase yet become expensive later if the design scales.)

    Hey Chris, awesome video, thumbs up from me✌ I'm just curious which POD company you use or do you fulfill yourself somehow? I have a great idea but after looking at printful/printify prices etc they seem way too overpriced. Please advise...

    • @InvolvingChris
      @InvolvingChris  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What's up Sam! Thanks so much for this feedback! Yes Printful is pricey, I'd only recommend using them once you've got some momentum going. I currently use 2 POD centers: Gooten & Printful.
      If I had to recommend 2 fulfillment centers that give you good value for price it'd be Printify and Gooten. We used Printify for over a year, and eventually parted ways because we stopped selling their products. You mentioned Printify is overpriced, what product(s) are you looking at specifically?
      Gooten and Printify both have great platforms and phenomenal customer service. Gooten specifically has had great improvements lately with their personalization system making it easier for sellers. Huge win.
      Let me know if I can give more clarity on anything!
