I feel like no annual fee card is always better because then you won’t have to force yourself to spend more just to justify the annual fee

True but it’s also a grocery and gas card if you want to live in the US at least you should be making enough for this one at least to make more than the blue everyday.

Just keep in mind that Walmart, Target, etc. Amex do not recognized them as grocery stores so it will be just 1%

It’s the neighborhood Walmart that’s a grocery store not the super store

      Yup, that is true.
"You will earn a reward of 3% on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases in a calendar year (then 1%) at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, and meal-kit delivery services are not considered supermarkets); 3% on the first of $6,000 of U.S. online retail purchases (then 1%), 3% on the first $6,000 of purchases of gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S (then 1%), (superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations); and 1% on all other eligible purchases. Additional terms apply." - Blue Cash Everyday

The BCE is definitely giving the BCP a run for it’s money!

I have both, but only because I got the BCE first and didn't know about the BCP at the time. BCP is the way to go, imo, and then the Paypal Mastercard covers your 3% online purchases PLUS 2% on everything else.

I have the every day since I can't justify paying the annual fee on the preferred and don't shop at supermarkets often and don't have many streaming services. If I shop at supermarkets more, I can go to the Preferred later on. Also, I can use for supermarkets the savor 1 or the No fee Amex points everyday card at 2x per dollar up to $6,000 a calendar year as well just like the Blue cash everyday. The streaming Category has got to go On the preferred. I don't have many streaming services to warrant giving them $95 a year in annual fees to keep the preferred. I'm sticking with the Blue cash everyday for now. I also don't need the Amex Gold card either. As a result, I decided not to upgrade and stay on Green for now.

I've had the everyday for almost a year and I'm considering upgrading to the preferred. They popped up an offer recently on the app for me for $150 back on 1k spend.

I think if the BCP had a higher cashback for gas I would consider it. I do spend most on groceries but not as much to justify $95 annual fee. It might save in the long run but god forbid I have a change in income that i can't afford it anymore. Stuck with an unpayable bill

I chose the blue cash everyday. If I shop more at supermarkets, I can always upgrade to the preferred. Right now I can't justify the annual fee on the preferred.

Got a few questions I hope you can answer
    1) Are both cards considered credit cards? Where one can carry a balance or does the balance need to be paid off monthly?
    2) Is it true that a score of 705 or 710 is needed to get either card
    3) what yearly or monthly salary is needed for either card, Over $60k or $70k??
    4) Does Amex always request proof of income and if so w-2?
    5) Are a persons chances of obtaining either card better if they receive one of those pre-approved mailers?
    6) How does Amex make the decision on the limit you get?
    THANK YOU!!

Great vid thanks for explaining. BCP seems more worth it just for the no annual fee to start. Only downside is if you don't use streaming it seems like a waste. BCE may be more worth it overall imo. Plus no worrying about annual fee.

    • @Th33Vultur3
      @Th33Vultur3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Besides not going on shopping supermarkets all the time, the streaming category is not worth it in the preferred. Amex needs to fix that and put something else instead of streaming. That's why I went with the everyday. Those categories I could justify more. That's why I went with the everyday over the preferred if the annual fee wasn't a factor

6% back on streaming is worth it to me. If you don't like streaming then probably better options out there for you. Still for those that shop at Supermarkets 6% back is hard to beat.
I make the money back on streaming alone for the AF. Everything else just keeps adding up cash back.

Use the preferred card 1st and then when you exhaust the grocery category at 6%, then switch to the everyday for groceries at 3%. For gas, you can use the everyday and when you exhaust that cap, you can go to the preferred since it's unlimited At 6%. Or just stick with the preferred for gas only.

When you put it that you have to spend 18k to get only $540 back doesn't sound like it's worth it.
