Hey Stephen! Big fan of your channel and videos! Can you do a more in-depth review of Apple Passwords? As a 1Password user, I am interested in switching over, but have seen/heard some lukewarm reception to the new offering from Apple. Would love to hear a more in-depth take from you, especially around security, experience sharing passwords with family and for users who have mutlple OS environments (Windows/Mac). Keep up the great work and I look forward to your videos each week!
Appreciate the kind words! Yes, I've been meaning to do that. Still trying to nail down the best way to move Passkeys and get all the details right, but it's coming!
Depends on your intend of use mate. I have the 8gb ram one and as a professional amateur videographer/photographer, I could use the 16gb of ram. Im just a bit patient you know. Now if you only need it for office work, more than good.
Hey Stephen! Harsh this side. Can you please let me know which mic do you use for recording purposes? I am thinking of purchasing a mic and would love your advice.
Something I don't think I've seen a vlogger mention regarding phone mirroring; when you're using your phone as a hotspot for the Macbook, it doesn't work, not ideally anyway. You have to turn on the phones wifi which turns off the hotspot. So yes, you can do phone mirroring, but while you use it, you have no data connection for the Macbook
@ I have a HP Spectre 360 with built in cellular and it’s so nice to not have to worry about connecting. I don’t know why more laptops aren’t cellular capable. They are, after all, mobile devices
Morning! Do you keep losing connection to the iPhone on the Mac? It’s not authentication, it’s just like going to sleep kinda thing and I’ve to hit a button that says, I think, connect or something kind that. It’s annoying that the phone screen won’t stay on. Thanks!
@@beardfm I am a big collector is tech. I have three Alienware laptops. I have an Alienware desktop. I can custom build it’s easy. My years being an IT director taught me custom building stinks lol. You have to worry about rma with all the different parts. You then compound it to hundreds of machines and it was a mess. I went with dell to stop that problem. I had a Mac book that actually was saved the business I was working in. It’s a long story, but it’s safe to say that Mac book saved the business. Apple silicon is incredible. I can run so much windows stuff through crossover now. I liked the build quality of my Alienware’s, but the build quality for my Mac book is leaps and bounds above that of the Alienware laptops. I am a big Linux user, but MacOS is become my favorite os. It’s incredibly light, fast, and powerful. The gui built on top is macOS is one of a kind.
Why don’t I need to hold the option key on my Mac to use the tiling drag feature? I just drag it to the edge and it tiles, no keypress required. Is that a setting I changed? I don’t remember as it’s been almost 2 months.
You are right, this is the default behaviour when dragging a window all the way to the edge. But with that option enabled, the outline appears right away, making it easier to reposition windows. It's kind of similar to when you want to close a desktop space, you hover over it and the X eventually appears after a delay, but if you hold the option key, the Xs appear right away. If that makes sense... If you try it out and it should be self-explanatory.

I'm there! Trying to post and engage more often: bsky.app/profile/beard.fm

Would you recommended it for a MacBook Pro with Apple M2 chip 2022?
Dude youre a work-alhlic with these great learning vids on my current favorite subject (Apple... Macs and everything concerning)💪
Where’d you get that wallpaper 👀
would you recommend it for a 2020 macbook pro m1 ?
That's what I'm running with no problems that I can think of.

The Sennheiser MKH 416 is a great mic
I Heard Xiaomi new hyper os 2 can mirror screen into Mac.
Does anyone know whats the difference between Fill and Zoom when double clicking the menu bar? Tried both but I don't see a difference in result

Good point. Another reason why Apple should bring built-in cellular to Mac!

I think the phone screen is made to turn off, but I have noticed after 15-20 min of inactivity the iPhone mirroring on my Mac goes to sleep too.
How do I scroll down in Instagram while I’m in phone mirroring mode..?🤔🤔.. thanks in advance.
Where do you load you Backgrounds?
I have a folder on my Mac for Wallpapers and then in System Settings > Wallpaper you can add a folder to browse from the picker
I love my m3 Mac book pro
I love mine too!

no iPhone Mirroring option on my phone? 16pm with IOS18.1
Is your Mac on the latest version?
@@beardfm yes, M4 Sequoia15.1
@@beardfm today, I updated 18.1.1, the problem solved !!!!!
When I hold down the option key and drag a window by the tool bar it doesn't show the tiling feature like yours did in the video at 9:25.
System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Windows > Hold ⌥ key while dragging windows to tile
Should've included this one! Thanks

Screen time wrong data showing
I have one problem in my iphone while calling
New question for the next Primary Tech episode: do you use the Genie Effect or Scale Effect for minimizing windows? 🤔
Oh good one! Will bring it up 😉
But the iphone camera can not be controlled while mirroring and no one talks about this!
Good point! Will try to cover in a future video.
Thanks a lot!
