Hands down the best hi hat comparison. Helped that this shoot out has three of the hats I needed to compare, but none the less, the way these videos should go. No talking between cymbal changes is major. All of the hats are great, so when trying to listen for those subtle details back to back, nothing wrecks your focus like someone talking before the next demo. Thanks a lot!!
I have the Byzance dual 15', I really love those hats. They have quite a unique sound but they are also quite versatile. But of coruse they're not for everyone
Byzance all the way. Just have the weight and crisp depth. The cheaper hi hats are great deals used, especially in electronic or straight rock. But Byzance is so diverse.
Great video, great sound and to the point, thanks! All great hats for every type of music, but my vote goes for the Extra Dry Medium, beautiful cymbals. I'm waiting for my Pure Alloy Custom to arrive soon, they're my second favorites.
I like the video format, just back to back sounds. In this display I liked the Extra Dry the most. But the way the hats moved I’d say you use a Promark Forward, use high stick height and a fairly tight grip on the stick. Someone with a looser grip and say bigger taper on the stick might draw out a different sound. Not trying to take away from the value of the video, the video still gives you a rough idea and differences between the hi hats. But the real truth comes when you yourself play a pair.
I feel like all these demo/comparison videos are absolutely useless. Everyone has everything mic’d and EQ’d. So you have NO idea what the cymbals actually sound like because any half decent cymbal can be made to sound brilliant with the right mic and eq
Thanks for watching the video guys! Let us know in the comments which Hi-hats were your favourite!!!

I know they’re aren’t the top of the line but I like the Duals. Nice demo.👌👍

Excellent review, perhaps the best out here! I'm into Meinl in a big way, these hats are geourgeus!
Dude great video. Just short and to the point and amazing quality! Thanks!

Extra dry medium and classics dark were my favorites. Duals are also cool. I used to own a pair
I like the classic one's
MIEINL THE BEST
Thanks it’s a grest comparison but I saw no wet symbols and no bright symbols just dark and dry so not a huge pallete
I hate the fact you can't choose weights...
