    Good to see someone using factory parts.If you use aftermarket valve cover gaskets on those engines they WILL leak.You are one of the very few people who know what they are really doing.

      They won't leak if done correctly. High temp grease resistant silicone. If you're not using the Mercedes sealant you HAVE to give it 24 hours to set. The Mercedes stuff sets much faster.

      TheGrumpy Diabetic Sorry but you are wrong. I have been working on Mercedes for over twenty years and aftermarket valve cover gaskets DO NOT work on the M112/M113 engines. Sealant should only be applied in a few specific locations and not on the entire gasket. You are not saving money by using aftermarket gaskets. Do it right and use factory parts. They aren’t that much. If you are saying to apply sealant to the entire gasket then that is not doing it correctly. Sorry, not trying to be rude but I know that I am right on this one.

    I changed both valve cover gaskets and breather gaskets in an hour and a half.

    Hi, Can you please comment on what kind of silicone you used when you wre putting down the gasket? There are so many silicones by Permatex alone. Thanks.

    2 spark plugs per cylinder, that's a lot of plugs to change. I've seen one of these before, but don't know anything about them... are they good engines or problematic?

    • @MaicSalazarDiagnostics
      @MaicSalazarDiagnostics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas EXOVCDS they are very good engines. The worst are the V12 engines, it uses two spark plugs per cylinder and the coils are one per bank of 6 cylinders, those are a nightmare!

      With proper maintenance they're as solid an engine as you can get.
