The ones that always get me most are the stepdads who get a child named after them. Step dads don’t have to take on a kid that’s not theirs but when they do and they do it so well that they get a baby named after them, that’s such a huge compliment.
I was pregnant when my best friend died of cancer in 1997 aged just 34, leaving 2 little girls. My daughter was sadly stillborn and her names are Ashley Meredith (my darling friend is Meredith). And I know that she will care for my baby until I get there. She is a grandma here now, and I am sad that those children will never know their beautiful, funny, sassy, talented, creative and loving grandmother. I miss her every day of my life.
@@jacobshort5378 I am but we don’t live near each other. I am always in touch with her daughter and I have lots of pictures. She would have been the best partner in crime for them. They know all about her ❤️
@@paulmccarthy2032 she wrote letters for the girls when she knew that she was terminal, letters for turning 18, getting married, becoming a mother, all separate letters for each event and left them each a treasure box. Her youngest was only 2 and does not remember her at all 😭😢 but Cass was 13. She fought hard as that was her nature but also she did not want to leave her children, she loved them so much. Her love will always be around them, as it is around me. I was so lucky to have her in my life and will always be thankful for the time that we had. I could not have had a more loyal and loving friend, who loved me even with all of my faults. She was just beautiful 💗
If your family doesn't see how great you surely are, find your people, the one who will be able to give you love, support and joy. I'm sending you a big hug too 🤗 stay strong❤
My best friend and I didn’t talk for a few years, just got busy with life and all. He had his son, I knew his name, but I didn’t think much of it. I went to his house and got to meet him, by this time he was 7. He told me his name, and I said “really, mine too, but it’s my middle name”. My best friend looked at me and just said “I know…” and it hit me. I never put it together, and I just fell apart. Even typing this it still gets me In the feels.
My wife, bless her heart, didn’t really care for my Grandfather’s name Boyd. But she did allow it as my son’s middle name. I’ll forever be in debt for the compromise. Walter Boyd is his first and middle name - fits perfectly!
My daughter gave my first granddaughter, and grandchild, my middle name as her middle name. When she told me I can’t even put into words how I felt, I’m Lisa Ann and she’s Averie Ann. I guess I did something right with her lol. That, to me, is the highest honor a grandparent can get. If she had been a boy she would have had my brothers middle name who passed away a year and half before she was born. This video was heartwarming to see all the different reactions❤
I named my daughter after a friend. I asked her in advance if she was okay with it, and she was more than happy with it. When our daughter was born, was when we found out the gender. My husband called my friend and left her a voicemail. My friend said she cried buckets, when she heard the news.
My daughter has her late grandma’s name Arlene as her middle name. I’m glad she has her name to carry on her legacy. We lost both her dad & grandma in 2021. So it makes it all more special.
My mom in law passed 2 years ago. Nobody named a baby after her, she had 9 granddaughters. Then I decided to name my baby after her, I’m due next month. Now some of my husbands family members say I’m stealing their name. They had 9 opportunities to name their children after their mom and didn’t, when mom was alive. So I don’t care 🤷🏼♀️
my Grandpa's name was Fern Douglas, my brother's name is Kenneth Fern and my mother-in-law's name was Fern Eleanore Ruth Newbern (F.E.R.N) so i named my daughter Jessica Fern.
I will never forget the days I got to share my first-born son's names with my grandfather and his sister. My grandfather took a full 15minutes to realize the significance of the names and then cried because 2 of his 3 names were after him and my late grandmother. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away before my son was born, but at his funeral i saw his sister and told her his name and she burst into happy tears because she knew how much it would have meant to both my grandparents to have a grandchild named after them. My second born son is also named after a great-grandfather. My angel son is named after both my father in-law and my dad, while my rainbow baby (and only daughter) is named after both my mother in-law and my mum. My husband and I are huge on the use of family names, so there was never any doubt that our children would receive family names. If I had been blessed with a second daughter, she would have been named after my grandfather's sister and one of my husband's grandmothers, with the middle names "Armitage Rae".
My son's have the same three initials as my dad--my dad was Carlton Robert Chambers, my oldest son was Christopher Robert Chambers and my middle son is Craig Richard Chambers. My daughter has her great grandmother's name Angela. She passed away when I was four months pregnant with my daughter. And my brother, my sister and I have the same three initials too--KAC. Kelley Anne, Keith Allen and Kristi Alison Chambers.
If I were born a boy I was to be called Porter McNeill Cummings. Porter being my Mothers Fathers Mothers maiden name and McNeill being my Fathers Mothers Fathers maiden name. Cummings being our immediate family last name. I was born a girl so they went with something else..... My Mother was dying of cancer when I found out I was pregnant and before she left I told her the name of my child regardless of their gender would be Porter McNeill Cummings. My Mother died in my third month of pregnancy. My son is named Porter McNeill Cummings. I surprised my father when my son was born with this name and he absolutely melted when told.
We named our son after our father(in law) and sadly he is no longer with us but I remember the day we told him when we placed him in his arms that was something special and very poignant ❤️
My 5 year-old is named after his late grandafther whom he never met. I promised my dad on his death bed that I would. 14 years after he went home to Jesus, I named my son after him. We also gave him my late father-in-law's last name for his middle name.
My oldest has his dad's name n his son has his My 3rd has my grandfather's n my youngest daughter has my husband's bestfriend's first name n my middle name its an honor to keep it going 😊
My son named his first child, a girl, after his older brother who died of cancer when he was 25. He changed the spelling a little but her name is Kristopher
I love the idea of carrying on family names, but my family may have gone a bit far . At a gathering I suddenly realized I was sitting at a table with my husband Mike, my brother Mike, my nephew Mike, his son Mike, and my niece's husband Mike. I was the only non-Mike
When my parents called from out of area into the hospital, when my son was born. I told my mother on the phone his name is Adam (after john Walsh' son Adam Walsh). Middle name Robert after my father's first name and my wife's father middle name. My mother said "his middle is Robert?" She went silent. I know she was happy about that.
I gave my daughter my mamaws middle name, my Mamaw raised me and was my real Mom. ❤ I named my oldest son after his Dad, which his dad is named after HIS dad’s step dad. It’s weird lol but it’s cool too. I gave my youngest son his dad’s middle name as well. ❤
My twin sons middle names are after my dad and their other step grampa. Ronald and Kenneth. And I'm hoping that my daughter will name her next child after my dad. Ronnie if it's a girl.
My first son has my grandfather's name for his middle name and my second son has my father's name for his middle name. Sadly, I didn't have any girl or grandma's name would have been in their name.
My daughter name is 2 names my wife like which was fine by me. But when she got ready to name my grandson I requested his middle name be after his great great father who was a very special man who happened to love me a lot. I asked my grandson that if he has a grandson that he use the same name for his son. And if he has a girl to name her after my grandmother for the middle name. He asks what if his wife did not like those names. I said you had been stand on business and name the kids like I said. (No I Did Not). I told him the Mom does have the naming rights after all the baby was in her belly for 9 months.
My dad's mother passed looooong before I was born , my dad got to help name me her first name is my middle name . I named my son after my stillborn brother, Michael. A name is very important to a person, as it gives them who they are and will be for their life

That’s beautiful man no matter what yall were both still connected thru those years dawg

The stepdads...awe, I mean if that doesn't mean something I don't know what does. Love it.
Over here bawling tears of happy joy; ahhh my heart 🥹🫶🏿
Omg that second guy pressing and rubbing the baby’s soft spot was stressing me the hell out
Seriously?
The fontanelle is tough as heck
The baby just passed through the birth canal 🤷

They cry because they know the in that moment their name will live on another generation…
And this is why my niece is called "Grandpa."
my Grandpa's name was Fern Douglas, my brother's name is Kenneth Fern and my mother-in-law's name was Fern Eleanore Ruth Newbern (F.E.R.N) so i named my daughter Jessica Fern.
