Not really a bad thing to do. Gives you maximum amount of time to finish the design. Plus, parts are likely to be changed for pre-season testing and Bahrain FP anyways. I’d be worried if they had problems getting the car to do a lot of laps. But Max’s nearly 150 laps showed that the car is ready for testing. Haas and Alfa’s cars seemed more finished. But they barely ran a couple dozen laps each. That’s a bad sign.
It seems all the pre-season analyses are 99% about aerodynamics, very little on the very complex hybrid power units. Mmm, not sure that's possible. The Merc can't suddenly move a the internal components to totally change the chassis - it's very tightly packaged. The same with the Redbull. Everything works together.
That support brace right in your field of vision must be a bit distracting ?
They weren't hiding anything, the car just wasn't ready. This is clear from the rather poorly fabricated parts in some areas of the car. Yes it has some interesting design features. Yes it will probably be quick, but it is clear that they were still putting the thing together right up to the start of testing.
In that case they could've released the renders earlier. They were clearly hiding it
Not really a bad thing to do.
Also Max doing so many laps in testing for data collection could hint that they're freestyling everything rn 😂 we'll see though
It seems all the pre-season analyses are 99% about aerodynamics, very little on the very complex hybrid power units. No complaints; design changes are dictated by where speed can be found and, as the cars get faster, it's all about the air. It's good to see so many different ideas. Let the race track prove which ideas are best.
It's going to be an interesting F1 race season.
good video. nice clear graphics
I really like the Alpha Tauri livery. Flows really well.
