Hi guys, my AI upscaling video just reached 42k views, so here's another cool trick, just apply this so you can easily sharpen video footage affected by camera shake, focus issues, or general softness. Made possible with a little help from AI technology. 😉
Never mind, just saw your "The Fastest Way to Enhance & Upscale Video Footage To 4K | Comparing 3 EASY Methods" gave me all the info i needed :D nice specs/Deatil on CPU and GPU power. :)
Tell me, did you applied the SHarpen AI (fro Topaz) in many individual photos (captured from a blur video) and made a new (sharpned) video? I ask this because Topaz only have a tool to make videos look similar to 4K, but it's not Sharpen AI iteself, since SHartpen AI it's just for photos.
Enhancing a 2 minute clip on rtx 3060 would have taken 15-20 hrs in UHD.. it's insane. The results are good but it is still crazy inefficient. Ended up downsizing to full hd and took a portion of the video, it took 8 hours
Just downloaded this after watching your video, the before and after is insane. You've earned a sub for this, and those Photoshop tutorials. Very cool :)
Yeah I had to rescue a 2 minute clip (interview partner moved behind the focus) Even on rtx 3060 would have taken 15-20 hrs in UHD.. it's insane. The results are good but it is still crazy inefficient. You CAN use masks for person however this didn't work in batches! Ended up downsizing to full hd and took a portion of the video, it took 8 hours
What I noticed too is that in batch queues, there's always a few seconds delay between the steps which adds up a lot too. This should be give some improvement. I hope they release an optimized version for video at some point.
And that is the problem: Topaz Labs’ Video AI was created for video enhancement & it runs faster than using a still app and/ or plugin designed as a Photoshop or standalone photo editing tool.
What if you wanted/needed to upscale and sharpen? Would you upscale first then sharpen the footage? Is this too much processing and would it negatively impact the footage?
Sharpen 1st.If you sharpen an upscaled video over 720,you're gonna die from old age by the time the process is finished. It's always more logical to fix a video while it's small because the much less time needed for the process.I've just sharpened a 4 minute 720 video with NCH on a 1.8 Gh laptop, took almost 90 minutes.NCH can fix this frog video too because it's not blurry,it's just soft.
I'm satisfied , I'm your subscriber from Kerala . Could you please make a video on getting the best results from filming with low end phones , shooting in 1080 p , then stabilize via Google photos after that gain the film look with AI and finally upscaling to 4k.
Thank you for the great advises. I have bought Sharpen AI with your discount code. Thank you so much. Also I have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder. All works well, except that the final result video is 1 to 2 seconds shorter than my original video, which is a big problem. I use H.264 and 1920x1080. Most likely I have some settings wrong. How can I get the final result video at the exact same length as my original video? Please advise. Thanks.
I had the same problem and after searching on web I found the solution: go to Preferences of Media Encoder then Multimedia and change the time base to the original video frame rate value. Idk why but if you change it in export options the video you got is shorter (so the clip is faster) than the original one.
Is there actually any way to upscale footage without having to dissect the video into multiple frames, upscale each one manually and them stitch them back together? It's such a pain, plus you need to remove, save and then relayer the audio over the top as well. I feel like this should be more automated, surely there is an AI that can do this already?
@@MDMZ I can't find anything on Topaz Video AI to sharpen my videos. I don't want to pay Pixop while sharpening my videos. Do Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder sound like better options?
I am quite disappointed with all the sharpening modes of Sharpen AI on my digitalized VHS SD-quality footage.. facial details get distorted, the clothing contrast contours get aliasing... When using in CPU mode (Intel Xeon 6-core), huge different colored stains appear over the image!
Great advice to use this doing the ol image sequence method..because the Video AI is 120 bucks more. Saves a bit when you need to. I tested the video Ai and sharpen ai and the image sequence method via sharpen ai had better results than the video sharpen product. Appreciate it!
I'm trying to turn a video that's somewhere between 240p and 480p (can't remember the resolution) to 4K somehow, but it is an older video from back in the day and I'm just wondering if I'm fighting a losing battle here. As one commenter put it.. you can clean up pixels that aren't there. If it's that old of a video, then you can't really touch it up.. that's the consensus I got from a few people online. But then how do movie studios do it? Does it depend what it's shot on? Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated
Hello, your video is very clear... and well I just bought the software, thinking of improving a video with two speakers... but its not really working... I did step by step...it seems to me that some frames are not there after creating the video with Media Encoder, so the video doesnt fit with the original audio. Do you have any Idea about what its happening? Thanks.
hi, it's possible that the frame rate was changed during the process, compare both original and upscaled videos and see if that's the case, otherwise I think it's a good idea to use Topaz video AI instead, which didn't exist when I made this video
So I just learned that I may need some additional programs in order to get an older video with a lot of pixelation to look HD or 4K. Such as Gigapixel or Adobe AE, but it seems I have a new problem and was wondering if you could help. I followed your instructions precisely, but some reason, my video was finalized with no audio. Do you know what might have caused this? Perhaps because the video was originally in WMV format and not an MP4?
if you're using this or similar frame by frame upscaling methods, you'll need to restore the audio manually in an editing software after upscaling, or check the video I made about Video Enhance AI, it will automatically keep your audio in 😉
My sharpened files are in order by name and I'm selecting the first image but all I get is a 5 second clip of that image, not the sequence. Image sequence is selected also. Can anyone help me ID what I'm doing wrong?
sounds like a bug, make sure the software and your drivers are all up to date, you can also try converting the video to another format before processing
Thanks for the tutorial. Very useful. However, I have trouble dragging the .mp4 to the media encoder 'Watch Folders' like you did at 1:18 / 6:34. Am I doing something not right? Can you help please?
Giving this a try tomorrow on a shot that was front focused a little bit, hope for the best! Do you find this works better than sharpening with a mask over the subject?
Hi! When I import the sharpened files back into Adobe Media Encoder, selecting the first file (from the folder of sharpened images) and selecting PNG File Sequence from the options menu as suggested, it's delivering an mpeg of the first image file only. If I select all, it gives me mpegs or every single image/frame but not a continuous video file. Any suggestions? It's killing me!
I would love to see, what sharpen AI can do with a video like Kathy Kirby - Secret Love.Looks horrible on youtubes' 480 player and still looks pretty bad even in its original 240 size.Your frog video is just soft, many very cheap program can sharpen it.Please do a short video on an actual blurry video,if possible.
The newest versions of Sharpen AI watermarks your images after you export, unless you buy Sharpen AI, which is a hefty 80 US dollars. Is there a workaround to the watermark?
Beware, using sharpen ai on video clips with sync audio does not work. The "fixed" clips will not sync. Because this tutorial was geared to footage, and I didn't see any comments mentioning an audio issue, I bought it without trying it first. Money down the drain! I haven't yet jumped to spending $150 to try to see if Video Enhance AI will do the job. Just sayin ...
if you export at the original fps, and interprate the new footage to the original fps too, you can simply replace the old video with the new video in the timeline and you'll be fine
Can you compare the best way to upscale a video? Gigapixel then denoise ai then sharpen ai then video enhance ai? Or video enhance ai then denoise ai then gigapixel then sharpen ai? Or what? Because the video enhance ai edits each frame with reference to previous frame unlike the gigapixel, denoise and sharpen. But sharpen ai, denoise ai and gigapixel seems to do better job than video enhance ai for each frame. I'm planning to buy 3090 graphics card when Nvidia release it and use it for Topazlabs to upscale my movies and videos.
