Since all the judges seem to be hesitant to actually put him in jail for even a day, why don't they start to put him in a timeout in a room alone with a couple of deputies, without anything to do but stare at the wall...you know, how you do it when you have your kids stand in the corner for 10 minutes because they did something bad. That probably won't start Civil War part II, and they could increase it to 2 or 3 or 4 hours or the entire day.

@@JeffreySmith7777Except that the question of Cohen lying under oath obviously will be asked by the prosecution. Plus another bunch of questions that will help explain why he did so and why he isn’t lying now. The defense won’t be left with many more questions to ask. They will possibly try to reveal other embarrassing things about Cohen. Although since Cohen has already been tried in court himself, the prosecution knows everything embarrassing and likely let Cohen reveal it himself to the court.
Also Stormy has already testified under oath in both criminal and civil trials that she received the money. Besides the evidence of the bank transactions made.
It will be easy to prove that the bookkeeping was intentionally erroneous. Then the misdemeanor parts are ✔️. Since Trump himself is on record explaining that he didn’t want any more scandal stories to be made public-and also has a history of not bothering too much if his wives becomes aware of his adultery-proving that he engaged in false bookkeeping so to keep the information about these affairs from the voters is similarly not too hard. And prohibiting voters from getting access to embarrassing information about you when you run for office is a federal crime. The NY state law doesn’t specify that you actually have had to be sentenced for that federal crime to turn the misdemeanors into felonies. It is enough that this court can prove it as being a fact.
Now, Trump will likely not as a first time offender be sentenced to prison but to a-in relation to the recent lawsuit penalties-low fine. He could have struck a deal ahead of this trial to get an ever lower fine by admitting that he was guilty. He opted not to.

She already owes $600,000 from failed attempts to sue Trump that she is refusing to pay, but yes, legally if she breaks the NDA, then the terms of the agreement will require a repayment. Probably including a penalty and interest, as defined by the agreement, which she will also refuse to pay.

No it isn't. Too bad that isn't what Trump is on trial for. If Trump had just stumped up the cash himself, he'd have no issues. But he had Michael Cohen do it for the sake of his campaign (as the story was going to come out during his presidential run, even though it happened nearly 10 years prior). That was classed as a cmapign donation that wasn't declared. The fact that the reimbursement was delcared falsely in business records to keep it a secret, is the crime.
