The Road Glide
Street Glide just due to price points and I prefer batwing over shark nose fairings.

Yeah I had to reply that 3 times. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing. Not somebody you would want to upset in a dark alley.
I bought my 2022 Heritage from him and he is a super nice guy. I have several new metrics and this was my first Harley and i have to say this was the best dealership experience i have had so far.

Not really fair to compare the old Street Glide to the new Road Glide, even though I'm a Road Glide fan, lol
Learned I don't like a frame mounted fairing many years ago before the Tour Glide became a thing.
Batwing fairing or no fairing. I'd want a Road King before I'd have a Road Glide.

Sorry, but the Street Glide looks so much better than the Road Glide. If they could only find a way to frame mount the batwing fairing and give it taller bars . . . .
Some people want the headlight to move with the bars and it messes them up otherwise

Not to be critical but comparing an older SG to the new RG is not a fair comparison. Should have used 24s for both. I bought a 24 SG as I really like the batwing. That being said ride what you love and love what you ride.
Enjoy the warmth back here in Wisconsin we got 4 inches of snow and -5 windchill tonight. The RG gonna have to stay in the garage a little longer.
it really is nice on the chieftain to have that adjustagle fairing also. its one of the things i love.
I *absolutely* would choose a Road Glide. No question. I want a fixed fairing so badly. Course for me, the best bike I've ever ridden is still the Challenger. That's the dream bike for me right now!

I'm 6'3 and I've always rode dynas and choppers. Though i understood the performance difference between the fixed fairing of the road glide compared to the street glide, I've always loved the classic look of the batwing. What actually sold me though was how it looked and felt while i was riding. Being "on top of the bike" as you described the street glide is what i preferred. Felt like how riding a motorcycle had always felt to me. The unobstructed view when i peered over the windshield felt more "motorcycle like". I wasn't ingulfed by the view of the inside of the fairing and higher placed infotainment whereas the road glide felt and looked like a space age wave runner would. Didn't like looking at all the stuff (fairing and gps in my face). To each thier own which is why they make many.

Like mini road glides
Never rode any of those, so I can't judge. But doing test rides is pretty much the best you can do to pick one you'd prefer most.
Especially if you are used to riding bikes.
Love the way the Road Glide handles, but feel like I’m on a wave runner with that huge fairing.
I think for the most part it’s which you visually prefer more than anything between those two. I’ve heard from many the SG has a bit better wind deflection but like engine size I wouldn’t let that be a big factor. SG may feel a bit heavy in front due to the fairing being mounted like it is. Should make sure to ride a 24 SG also, not the best comparison with a 23 to a 24.
I prefer the road glide aesthetically but I gotta say the street glide fairing keeps the cold off better. Other than that I’d say it’s just a matter of preference.
Road Glide for sure, but I haven't ridden them, I've always ridden softails. Love my El Diablo Low Rider ST-my other bike is a 1997 Softail Custom (FXSTC). So I am positive between the two, I'd pick Road Glide. If I were to get a bagger, I wouldn't even consider a SG, it would be a toss up between the RG and the Road King Special. I don't have height issues being 5'8 with a 31" inseam, I have weight issues... I'm only 126 lbs (and lean af at ≈10% body fat, so what little weight I have is muscle, there just isn't much of it), that's not a lot of muscle to work with if I had to back up or something, I'd have to add a reverse gear like I'm an old man or something.
I've never ridden either bike, but I was thinking I would like the street glide better because of the fairing able to move in the direction you steer. But after her review of how much more comfortable the road glide is, I would definitely have to ride both to make sure. Really good video today.
Going past semi trucks, those fairings are like sails. Crosswinds SUCK. Small windscreens are much better for handling...and they block bugs. lol
Only time you steer the bike by turning the bars is below 20mph. Above 20mph you’re leaning/counter steering so the fairing/headlight isn’t turning anyways. Some people say the fairing not turning messes with them at slow speeds. I kinda understand that but you shouldn’t really notice it during slow speed maneuvers because your head & eyes should be looking where you want to go. It never bothered me personally. I liked the road glide so much after test riding one that I converted my street glide (couldn’t afford the one I demoed lol) biggest difference I noticed on RG was the bars turned easier and bike felt lighter/more nimble with quicker maneuvers. My SG always felt heavy & sluggish
Take both bikes on a good test ride back to back. Backroads & interstate.

I can't stand a stiff clutch. Bike or car. Top heavy fairings aren't on my wish list, either. I like a cruiser with strap or clip on luggage, and a small memphis shade windscreen at most. I leave the stereo, computer, seat warmer and recliner at home. lol

She would be good on any of the Harley baggers. With her height I would get the dealer to change the seat out to one that will help her sit lower and be able to flat foot the bike. Enjoyed the video and safe riding!!
i have a 2017 FLHXS in hard candy and love it.I test drove both the SG and RG 2024 and I fell in love with the RG in blue burst. It's more comfortable than the lower bars on my FLHXS and the engine is amazing. I never liked the look of the RG, but this new fairing is great.
I rode the road glide and street glide back to back, and I ended up buying the street glide. What it really came down to was the dash layout, and hand position on the handle bars. Both handle very well for their size though!

Coming from a ''fixed fairing'' to SG it took me about 2K miles to get use to it.

Im 5'5" and fit on my 23 Road Glide comfortably. The Road Glide is the most gangster bike Harley makes, hands down. Indian makes a great bike, but I think Harley just makes a better motorcycle. The new 2024 styling on both Harley baggers is solid.

Great video. I love the Road Glide and have been worried about the weight. I have been looking at the Low Rider ST instead, just for the lighter weight. I’m 5’10” and 160lbs. This video gave me more confidence about the Road Glide 😊. Not a fan of the Street Glide at all!
RG guy here. Small dude 5’6” 160. No problem handles like a dream. You won’t be sorry. Fixed fairing is awesome
I'm a die hard street Glide owner but the 24 Road Glide is a very nice bike that I would have no problem riding.

Couple of things. I believe at this stage the road glide now outsells the street glide. Number two I’ve owned both at the same time I like the street glide more than the road glide because the road glide front end feels too light to me. But the best bagger will always be “The Road King”.
I have a 08 street glide and love it. If I could afford it, I’d have a road glide as well.
Road Glide hands down, the best of both. I’ve had and have both with many miles on both.

I personally think it’s personal preference between RG and SG. The SG felt better for me. I also immediately changed out the seat
Road Glide all day everyday. I’ve ridden both and recently traded in my road king for a Road Glide. Absolutely the best bagger IMO
6:00 in.. "how do we get the turn signal to turn off". lol. I had the same question when I rode a street glide. I couldn't tell when it was on or off. Also.. my absolute biggest gripe with HDs is the turn signal on both sides. Why can't they just put it on the left side like every other bike on the planet? 🤣

I only own a 2019 Indian Scout Sixty but I am chomping at the bit to get a bagger. Before I do I am going to test ride the Indian Chieftain and Challenger and the Harley Davidson Road glide and Street glide. While I like the looks of the Road Glide and the Challenger you never know until you ride.

Ultra Limited over Road Glide any day. Funny to hear about the buffering from people. Riding in rain is much better on Ultra than RG.

Go Pack Go! OG cheese head here, but I live in Indiana now. And we got 4" snow yesterday so my sporty has to stay in the garage. I haven't ridden the big tour bikes yet, but have been on a couple soft tails. Glad to see another Wisconite on the channel. Can't wait for the next update to see how she likes it on a longer ride.

Having ridden a street glide for seven years daily, and road glide for four years daily, I would definitely buy a road glide.
I came from a Street Glide to a Road Glide. I definitely love my Road Glide a lot more than I ever did the the Street Glide

I know the street glide was the old model the Road Glide was a new model and I was under the impression that the new 24s had taller suspension so it should have made it even taller.

Its HILARIOUS that you guys are saying there are all these differences in brakes, throttle, "feel" between the 2.....other than the fairing, literally EVERYTHING is the same except for the bars...which you change to your preference.....they are literally identical...you can make one feel identical to the other simply with the changing of the bars....everything else is in your head. I own both... :D. Everything, the frame, wheelbase, motor, brakes, weight, seat height, frame dimensions....all of it is identical except for the fairing and where the bars are attached....granted the placement of the bars makes a difference and the 60lbs of electronics being attached to the bars....so they "feel" sluggish...but its all in your head.
get some riding boots before you get hurt..plus it would help you handle the bike when stopping, stopped..more leg reach and grip..i would have refused to let you take a test ride with those tennis shoes on.. I absolutely hate those RG stingray handle bars..they look terrible..but I haven't road one.. yet..thank you

I have long hair like Amanda and i wonder how hers doesn’t get tangled being in a pony tail when wearing a helmet, i have to wear it in a braid or else it’s a rats nest and tangled from the wind🤣 i need her to give me some tips!
As a long haired guy I struggle with the same thing. I use about 5-6 hairties because I can't manage to braid my own hair. Luckly where I ride its usually cool enough to ride with a jacket and I tuck my hair in the jacket with a buff or balacalava to keep it from getting pulled out and tangling, I feel you the struggle is real. 😄
Street glide looks WAY better…. Just bought a brand new one. Didn’t even give a road glide a second glimpse. Think they are ugly. But that’s my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.
