    "If Whitney was the moral, how would you define Bobby" is a double-entendre. He moved from selling drugs to making music. He's telling his guy they'll always be tight, but he's on another path....'Bobby' or 'Brown' is a nickname for heroine, here.
    Mad love from the UK. Loving your reactions.

    • @christycullen2355
      @christycullen2355 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably the best definition I've heard of that bar. Obviously it means coke and heroin but it also means I'm gonna do a Whitney and move on like she did. There's so many levels to that bar

    • @firstlook8291
      @firstlook8291 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another meaning could also be referencing Bobbi 'Kristina' Brown, as opposed to Bobby the father. She, as Whitney did, died of drowning in a bath due to drugs.
      Wretch is ridiculously good

    Nas is one of my favourite rappers of all time.. and I'm here from the UK! I grew up with two older brothers so I was raised on that 90's hip hop! Wretch 32 is up there with the best in the world, not just the UK! It seems like when the US forgot about lyrics..the UK stepped up and bred a generation of rappers who focused on what really matters! Because that 90's US hip hop is what inspired them!
    Edit...infact thinking about it, in terms of lyrics and intelligence I think wretch 32 is one of the greatest to ever live! Of all time

    I must have watched about fifty reactions to this freestyle and y'all are the first to elaborate on that Whitney-Bobbi line. If it is referring to her daughter it fits the scheme because he talking to someone he holds close but he must give a reality-check to and both those women, arguably, were let down by the men that were closest to them not stopping their down fall by forcing them to face the bitter truth even if it means risking alienating them. "set it in stone & stick around" be their wall. Even if you never get thanked, its fine as long as you feel it in your soul that they are gift worth protecting.👏👏👏

    1. Franky Detoren is a famous jocky.
    2. Craigh David - 7 days a song by Craigh.

    Whitney and Bobbie are also slang terms for heroin and cocaine as well I believe
    Also the meaning of the branch bar was playing off "Family tree" where hes basically saying your family used to see you being successful and living, and now you're suffering the same way tree does when it's dead in the winter. It feeds into the GOAT and sheep line too.
    Oh yea and the "peace with a piece" / "Buddhist with a hammer" line is siiiiiccckkk
    And the "Player and knee" line is talking about both Colin Kappernick and not being a player and getting married soon as well

    "Some family in your tree can see your branch now when they only use to hear your leaf's" they see you diversifying your investment portfolio when they only use to hear you rhymes (note, not listened). For example, some older family members might not take a "freestyle" like this serious but then they see the liquor brand he owns in the store and suddenly they looking differently at him. He is now the family cash-cow, so everybody is trying to stay on his good side.

    But Asia. Asia. Asia?!? How are you gonna say some ish like "they won't know who Nas is". Nas?!?!? I suppose we don't know who Rakim, BDP, Main Source & Bug Daddy Kane are either. We know possibly more than a lot of Americans because we actively listen to everything whether it's east coast, west coast, dirty South, Detroit (Slum Village etc). And that's because we love the art form. Plus we have our own scene and the best lyricists on the planet. I know you took it back (kinda) but it's too late 😏
    Great reaction, your expressions at his wizardry are priceless. I'm still gaining new understanding after multiple listens. You have to do his Daily Duppy Redemption, where a young Wretch shows us what we have in store with inimitable wordplay. Stay blessed 🖤👊🏾

    He said "that shooter out in Vegas, really gambled with youth, to even out the odds should of let me Snap him in two" it's a little gambling scheme and UK rap scene isn't as old as your scene and naturally it took awhile to get to this point cause the UK is small compared to the US, so most of us over the age of like 23/24 grew up on US music only that's why UK Rappers always reference the US and pay homage to your rappers

    I remember listening to Nas when Illmatic came out and it blew my mind. When was that? 97? 98? I don't remember. But I can say that anyone who listened to rap in the 90s in the UK knew who Nas was. He was incredible.

    Wretch 32 - His and Hers Perspective
    Get into it! And do re-listen to his music, not just react. Rapthology is a seriously artistic project. Like Akala, these are more than just your basic rappers.

    Haha, we definitely know who Nas is - and all the greats of American Hip Hop etc - just as much of the world is, we're pretty much raised on American culture from tv to film to music - America and Black America have done a very good job of exporting their culture!
