The Step 5 diagram shows the outer frame positioned 1/4" back from the edge of the opening. Positioning the unit there would leave the slides about 1/2" or so protruding beyond the cabinet frame and you would be unable to close the cabinet door. Shouldn't the diagram show the end of the slide itself recessed at least a 1/4" back from the edge of the cabinet frame?

So is it ok if it is only screwed into one side of the cabinet? The back, floor, and one side?
Yes, that is the way we installed it. Works fine.
