    Hmm shop owners lol :~)
    I like your sense of humor :-), throwing away the bits you dont want in a comical way :-)
    I like the way you make your videos understandable to non french speaking people outside france.
    Very appreciated by someone like me in the uk, thankyou :-)

    Thanks ! : )
    The oil is 20w and it's a bit harsh when riding.
    I think we will go for a 15w or 10w next time.
    The guy at the shop said 20w was the good viscosity but i think he just wanted to sell what he had behind him....

    Hola ! : )
    Gracias : ) y bonjour Colombia !!!

    Do you put your fork spring back into tube then add the oil with fork pushed down ? If you didn’t need to replace the rubber gators and only putting in new fork springs can you leave the forks in the triple trees ? Good video , Shane

  • @michaelovitch

    No lo pienso.
    La viscosidad no debe modificarse con el calor y el grado de viscosidad debe ser identica or equivalente a un aceite por los telescopicos. como 5w 10 w etc...
    En la aceite de telescopicos de la motocicleta dsi tiene que el aceite hay aditivos de presión.
    Es por eso que huele a azufre.

    Is it possible to change the black plastics / rubber cap without take the whole fork in piece of components ? Or I had to dissasembled everything ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cap can be removed witout disassembling,the black plastic protection must be slipped on the fork assembly,from the top side since the two ends of it have different diameters wich do not allow you to slide it from the bottom.
      you have to remove the fork so.

    Hello. Nice video. What do you think about using forks without bellows?.

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fernando Maggi
      Hello : )
      Thank you.
      I think,and it's a fact, boots or bellows protect the tubes from scratches and damage,they make your seals last way longer.
      They are not always good for the look on a bike ,but they are very useful for protection.
      Without them,you will c tch more water,dust,,so damage the seals way quicker.
      They are not used nowadays for cost reduction and look.

    My forks have way too much play and bottom out. Need tighter shocks. Would doing this help that?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the male tube have some play in the female tube i think it's because the bushings are worn out.
      If it's bottoming out ,it's maybe because the lack of oil.
      Check the seals ,they are maybe leaking,and all the oil is gone,so the bushings wore out fast.
      Then add the correct amount of new oil like here : )

    why is that hars sound when compresing ? i changed my 00-R6 oil and oil-sealings, and get that hars sound also, but it doesn t look normal to me. Before changing oil it didn't make the sound...did the sound disapeared in time at yours ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the air escaping from the boots by a little hole.
      Did you use the same oil viscosity and quantity for your bike ?
      If you change it, the oil will have a different behaviour and your fork too.
      If it's the exact same oil maybe you have a bit of air in the fork.
      There are specific procedures to purge a fork,did you follow it ?
      You used a service manual ?

    • @motorax.service.motociclete
      @motorax.service.motociclete 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, i used the 10w oil bought directly from yamaha dealer.
      i was thinking about the air too, or the coper bush to grind on the inow tube, the bush and washer got in a little bit to hard.
      i did things by manual also, maybe the fact that i poured the oil 100ml by 100ml until 475 to have the exact quantity, and not the whole 475 at once could cause this ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mihai Dumitrescu
      No,you did it right.
      The fork didn't touch the floor when you did it ?
      It must be fully extended ,in the air.

    • @motorax.service.motociclete
      @motorax.service.motociclete 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh,event i pushed and pulled several times the damping rod, i guess this would be it, the inox tube was all the way down, resting on the case bottom. is there a problem having that air inside now ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mihai Dumitrescu
      I've checked the 2007 r6 service manual.(the only i can find for free.)
      They say you must be sure to bleed all the air from the fork.
      So i was wrong you need it compressed.
      I think you have air in your system that causes bubbles to form ,so noise.
      I suggest you to bleed them.

    bonjourvous parlez pas de la pression à mettre dans chacun des 2 bâtons ? vous avez pas de gonfleur vous sur votre 600 xt ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bonjour,
      Non pas de valves de gonflage ici,le plus souvent on voit ça sur des motos d'enduro ou des motocross.
      C'est juste la pression atmosphérique pour cette moto : )

    • @billb1369
      @billb1369 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      bah non, j'ai un 600 xt et j'ai des valves pour gonfler chaque baton..et justement je sais pas combien mettre de pression....

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Entre 0.4 et 1.2 bars maximum

      et une autre question, les ressort c'est jamais mort ? faut juste changer les joint spi et l'huile dans une fourche ?

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oui,
      Un ressort peut se tasser ou casser.
      A partir du moment où il pas cassé et qu'il fait la longueur d'origine c'est tout bon.

    Not mechanics doing this. Leave the oil draining till the forks are removed but crack the large head bolts with the forks in place but don't take them all the way out. To really get the oil out you need to turn the forks upside down and pump them with the piston rod. Why didn't they do the oil seals as well? This is half assed mechanics. Stiff forks maybe the 20 but light forks the 10 or even 7.
