Hmm shop owners lol :~) I like your sense of humor :-), throwing away the bits you dont want in a comical way :-) I like the way you make your videos understandable to non french speaking people outside france. Very appreciated by someone like me in the uk, thankyou :-)
Thanks ! : ) The oil is 20w and it's a bit harsh when riding. I think we will go for a 15w or 10w next time. The guy at the shop said 20w was the good viscosity but i think he just wanted to sell what he had behind him....
Hola ! Gracias : ) y bonjour Colombia !!!
Do you put your fork spring back into tube then add the oil with fork pushed down ? If you didn’t need to replace the rubber gators and only putting in new fork springs can you leave the forks in the triple trees ? Good video , Shane
It's one of the most spoken or written here on youtube. I make vids in French too. I don't really like to speak,so i make vids in a way that allow me to avoid that.
The cap can be removed witout disassembling, the black plastic protection must be slipped on the fork assembly, from the top side since the two ends of it have different diameters wich do not allow you to slide it from the bottom. you have to remove the fork so.
Fernando Maggi Hello : ) Thank you. I think, and it's a fact, boots or bellows protect the tubes from scratches and damage, they make your seals last way longer. They are not always good for the look on a bike ,but they are very useful for protection. Without them, you will c tch more water, dust,,so damage the seals way quicker. They are not used nowadays for cost reduction and look.
I wrote "It's one of the most spoken or written here on youtube" Chinese don't have youtube, there is a censorship in this country as i know and they can't even afford a computer. I don't know Chinese, so it's limited for me...
hi thank you for this video that's the next job I'll do to my bike(exactly like yours but in red and white colour) can I ask you where did you get the service manual for this bike? I tried to download but I found it only in German!!! thanks a lot regard from italy
If the male tube have some play in the female tube i think it's because the bushings are worn out. If it's bottoming out ,it's maybe because the lack of oil. Check the seals ,they are maybe leaking, and all the oil is gone,so the bushings wore out fast. Then add the correct amount of new oil like here : )
why is that hars sound when compresing ? i changed my 00-R6 oil and oil-sealings, and get that hars sound also, but it doesn t look normal to me. Before changing oil it didn't make the sound...did the sound disapeared in time at yours ?
It's the air escaping from the boots by a little hole. Did you use the same oil viscosity and quantity for your bike ? If you change it, the oil will have a different behaviour and your fork too. If it's the exact same oil maybe you have a bit of air in the fork. There are specific procedures to purge a fork, did you follow it ? You used a service manual ?
yes, i used the 10w oil bought directly from yamaha dealer. i was thinking about the air too, or the coper bush to grind on the inow tube, the bush and washer got in a little bit to hard. i did things by manual also, maybe the fact that i poured the oil 100ml by 100ml until 475 to have the exact quantity, and not the whole 475 at once could cause this ?
oh,event i pushed and pulled several times the damping rod, i guess this would be it, the inox tube was all the way down, resting on the case bottom. is there a problem having that air inside now ?
Mihai Dumitrescu I've checked the 2007 r6 service manual.(the only i can find for free.) They say you must be sure to bleed all the air from the fork. So i was wrong you need it compressed. I think you have air in your system that causes bubbles to form ,so noise. I suggest you to bleed them.
Not mechanics doing this. Leave the oil draining till the forks are removed but crack the large head bolts with the forks in place but don't take them all the way out. To really get the oil out you need to turn the forks upside down and pump them with the piston rod. Why didn't they do the oil seals as well? This is half assed mechanics. Stiff forks maybe the 20 but light forks the 10 or even 7.

She is young and crazy but really cool : )
fantastic video. welldone.
Yes we speak french,we are french : )
Is it possible to change the black plastics / rubber cap without take the whole fork in piece of components ? Or I had to dissasembled everything ?
The cap can be removed witout disassembling, the black plastic protection must be slipped on the fork assembly, from the top side since the two ends of it have different diameters wich do not allow you to slide it from the bottom.
you have to remove the fork so.
Hello. Nice video. What do you think about using forks without bellows?.
Fernando Maggi

Hi
what is your model ?
+michaelovitch it's a 1990's 3tb
+Gaetano Buonocore
I have one in English.
You want it ,give me your email.
My forks have way too much play and bottom out. Need tighter shocks. Would doing this help that?

No,you did it right.
The fork didn't touch the floor when you did it ?
It must be fully extended ,in the air.
oh,event i pushed and pulled several times the damping rod, i guess this would be it, the inox tube was all the way down, resting on the case bottom. is there a problem having that air inside now ?

hwo do you know how many ml of oil to put
We use a service manual for this bike ,you can choose the grade/viscosity of oil however following wht you do with the bike : road or off road.
tres bian les mec merci

interesting is the precision about 17ml. it isn`t 500,530,480...
For sure,it's weird.
i don't know why they give this specific quantity.
must be this: japanese=precision lol
I think too : )
