    Watching in Feb 2021. Thank you for putting this together. Great work. So very exciting.
    Came to sumo 4 or 5 years ago because of the real GOAT HAKUHO. But after a friend told me about ASASHORYU and CHIYONOFUGI and I watched old vids of those two, I found myself loving them as much as HAKUHO.
    To me, what makes ASA so damn exciting is his fierceness and his enthusiastic display of his emotions. Ya gotta love him!!

      At that time Sumo was different.
      Imagine Kisenosato, Harumafuji was Ozeki
      Kakuryu was Sekiwake climbing ranks, giant Baruto, ozeki Kayo, Bulgarian Kotooshu and goes on
      At last 2 final bosses were Great Hakuho and Asashoryu rivalry.
      Gosh Sumo was different level at that time
      Sorry nevermind my english im learning 😅

    At 1:29, you can see the doubting, nervous look the opponent gives Asashoryu! Priceless! I wish Asashoryu would read comments that he still gets after all the years! There are many videos of him (but I love yours the best)! He was very much loved! Thanks SumoParis! You really do an outstanding job! 😁💞💕😊❤💞👏

    12:34 how can the judges say "they crashed down at once" when asa's arm is obviously down first?
    dont get me wrong i love asashoryu but a win is a win and a loss is a loss.

    This commentator keeps on referring to the Morning Blue Dragon as the Green Wolf. It's upsetting.

      @@michaelb4538 Apparently in japanese there is no distinct name for green or blue. So its confusing. Ao can mean either blue or green.

    The leaderboard shown at 11:05 seems wrong. Musashimaru retired in Kyushu basho of 2003, not 2002. Ozeki Kaio and Chiyotaikaii also did not retire.

    • @SumoParis
      @SumoParis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      They retired from this Basho (not the end of their career) because they were injured.
